Dave Kingman's first homerun was an inside-the-park line drive that killed the outfielder. Gotta love that guy.
Willie McCovey was another old time beast that I loved watching. -

I have no problem riding it out until the day it’s 100% safe for the players to play and safe for the fans to watch it live.
It has never been, nor will it ever be, 100% safe.

Very surprised that most people have Arte ranked middle of the pack. Curious why people view him as a middle of the pack?
I ranked him 6-10 because I feel he is at least partially responsible for the overall organizational lack of focus on pitching. Otherwise he is 2-5.

Sanity is overrated.

They might lose some of the celebrations this year, but they still have their victory and their rings, correct?

Head congestion isn't a cardinal symptom of COVID-19. I am surprised that he would tell you that.
We are still working, but with the marked decline in state revenue, that won't continue unabated. I am waiting for Trump to renege on the federal government's promise to pick up 75 percent of the tab for anything that we spend on COVID-19, including overtime, supplies and equipment. There is no routine testing at the workplace, only screening for symptoms as people arrive. We have had two positive cases among employees at my facility - that I know of. We have sent several people home with symptoms, no idea whether any of them later turned up positive. They went straight into 14-day self quarantine. We have had a few people who were sent home but later returned to work after testing negative.
I had all of the symptoms except pneumonia.
I'm not pretending to be a doctor, but all of the various corona viruses are colds. Is this not correct? -

Hope you're feeling better soon!
Thank you!
I'm much better now. My job had me travelling, now I'm in hibernation -
I haven't been tested, but I've had a wicked cold that lasted over a month. By FAR the worst cold of my life. My doctor said that I should "just assume that I have it."

Next week you should focus on politics. I miss the 15 page threads where everyone is calling each other names.

Looks like the Orioles will set a new record for lowest winning percentage.

His season with injuries and a weak bat would still be in play. Perhaps we can make a low ball offer to see if he bites?

I know it's not realistic, but I'm sitting here fantasizing about a 2, 3, 4 of Trout, Rendon, and Betts.

The only Angel with an ofer is Pujols.
Let the bashing begin. -
Received a letter stating that I am an essential gov employee. Received an N99 mask. After taking last week off it will feel good to get back out there, or at least I'm trying to convince myself that it will.

I'm guessing 81-100 game season with playoffs in November (they may even expand the playoffs for this season to include more teams) with July, maybe even August played before limited/no crowd.
Yep, nothing says Baseball like a 17 degree blizzard.

A troll is one or both of these things:
1. Someone who intentionally posts annoying, asinine, or infuriating content in order to elicit a negative response.
2. Someone who harps on the same issues over and over again, knowing that doing so will frustrate or annoy people.
So you're saying my wife is a troll?

Has anyone been personally affected by this virus?
I usually travel a lot for work. I've been staying out of airplanes the past couple of weeks and just working locally.
Seems prudent to be cautious until we have a good understanding of what this is about. -

I've always liked Barry Bonds, mainly because he was one hell of a player - the best player of the 90s, and that was before he started taking steroids. But I found his "fuck you, media" attitude kind of fun. I'm not saying he was a good guy, but he was larger than life.
I generally don't like to reduce things to racism unless it is blatant, and there are other factors, but in his case I think it is relevant. Or rather, it is a combination of his personalilty, never cozying up to the media, and because he's a "black man with an attitude." We saw similar treatment of Albert Belle. White assholes are often interpreted as being "characters" or "scrappy," but black assholes are seen more negatively, like they're not playing their proper role and appreciative for being able to play major league baseball.
I prefer to think this is not the case, but I often wondered if this didn't have something to do with the treatment of Albert Belle.
No doubt Belle was an ass and deserved to be treated like one. I just always had a funny feeling about it.

Heaney has the skills to be a very good pitcher.
Maybe this will be the year he puts it together?
