We really need to see how things play out in 2021. There are so many questions with current pitchers, and we need to see how Detmers, Rodriguez, and Yan come along.
Best-case scenario and Bundy has solidified a new level as a #2; Quintana and Heaney regain their #3 form; Ohtani is healthy; Canning, Barria and Sandoval all take a step forward; Detmers and Rodriguez advance quickly. There, you have your 2022 rotation, and then some - and that doesn't even count a possible Bauer or Odorizzi signing.
In other words, looking at 2022 free agents may be unnecessary.
I'm confused. If we wait and see how 2021 plays out before making decisions, wouldn't including Bundy and Heaney on the 2022 roster be dipping into that 2022 free agent list?

Signing Quintana is a good thing, but it's more about depth than it is actual improvement.
-
Not sure what they will have in Ohtani this year. I'd guess 70 just as some sort of mid point.

Snell has "overpriced disaster" stamped on his forehead. Given the prospects that would be lost in a trade, I have little interest.

There's a big difference between skirmishing over resources and near genocide. For one, the former maintains a natural balance, an ebb and flow; the latter leads to the near eradication of a people (or peoples) and their culture. To say that Europeans only "did the same" is a vast, and obfuscating, stretch--comparing a mountain to a mole-hill. Not to mention millions killed, intentional use of diseases to kill off Indian women and children, and all the horrible crap that Columbus did. And then, to add insult to injury, destruction of culture, forbidden religious practices and language. Oh yeah, we'll give you the shittiest land!
Yeah, you really have to hand it to the Aztecs. Using their primitive technology (didn't even have the wheel) they could run sacrificial victims over their altars faster than the Nazi's could run Jews through Auschwitz.
That is actually pretty impressive.- Blarg and ten ocho recon scout

It's not, in fact if you were to walk up to my grandparents and call them Native Americans they would give you crap and tell you to call them either Indians or members of the First Nations, and tell you how this whole thing was brought about by white social justice warriors.
A life long friend of mine is Paiute. He would agree with the above statement 100%.

At first, no.
As the season approaches, enough of a silver lining for each acquisition will have been uncovered to inspire enthusiasm throughout Angel's Nation.
A month into the season reality will have sharply slapped us all in the face and the enthusiasm will have turned into yet another taste of bile. -

I like Eppler and think he did a good job of putting this organization back together. That said, at a certain point results matter. Time to try something different.

Yep, season is almost over and we're out of contention. Why not go home early. Every Angel player should follow suit and we can just sacrifice the remaining games. In fact, every team that is out of it should just quit now.
I mean, why not?

It’s going to be awesome when the angels finally get good for like 2 seasons after they tear down the development system again and then Trout starts his decent into being a mere mortal and we spend the next two decades being dog shit while we wait for Moreno to die. But hey, hopefully those couple of good years are great.
I thought Cliff Clavin was a Red Sox fan.

Not sure why they prefer FL to CA. It might be simply the lower latitude. Eventually almost all SpaceX flights will be out of Boca Chica, TX. They recently put out an add to hire a resort builder. I assume that’s because they are looking toward space tourism and not only want to build a space port but a place to view the launches for the general public. We’ll see.
I believe it's mostly financial. Throw in punishing CA regulations and there you go. It's actually cheaper to send the rocket to Florida by ship and launch from there than it is to launch from Vandenberg. Musk wants to cut costs and the best way to do that long-term is to build your own facilities in a business friendly environment like Texas.

Isn't there a "No crying in baseball" rule of some sort?

I understand. That's how it works now.

Maybe you're racist or not. None of us can say that for sure. But systemic racism is different than person-to-person racism.
Sounds about right. In a sense, my belief that I am not racist is little more than an educated opinion.
For fifty years or more whenever my mother receives a notice for jury duty she replies that she believes the court system in inherently biased against black people and that she flatly refuses to participate.
Certainly there are many examples of anti-black bias occurring in individual events, but I am unconvinced the bias is systemic. -

A bunch of white guys saying there's no systemic racism is absolutely on brand for this forum.
So, since I'm white I cannot objectively state whether I'm racist?

I'll not speculate on motives behind the decision to send him down (?) but the Angels gave him a chance to force his way onto the roster and he didn't do it. It's on him as well as the team.

His value is not negative, his trade value is negative.
One of the top 10 players in the game until he hiccupped in 2020 is a very valuable player to have on a team.
