I am pretty sure there wasn't one response in this thread that mentioned not being a fan of the Angels anymore.  
 
Some of us enjoy more than what Erick Aybar does at the plate on a Wednesday or whether Santiago throws 6 innings instead of 5.

To some of us it's an unfortunate shift in the philosophy of the organization.  One that many were pleased to have as part of the past.  
 
In the grand scheme of things, none of this is really all that big of a deal.  It's just baseball.  But here we are.  Many of us pretty regularly investing our time, money and effort into following our team.  
 
Don't worry about it though, I slept like Mike Butcher last night and I will again tonight.  Just post a pic of your view from way up there.

If trading for the only ALCS MVP in the franchise's 55 year history - a guy who hit three home runs in the franchise's only ALCS clinching game (despite Scioscia's repeated attempts to get him to keep bunting in that game) is your WORST trade - then you are doing all right.
 
I'd give up every single Jim Fregosi, Nolan Ryan, Reggie Jackson, or whatever flotsam this franchise floats out as "legends" for the one guy who got us to the only World Series.

Scioscia's feel for the game used to make him a pretty good manager when everyone else was going by feel as well.  Now it's opportunities missed.

Methinks we have found the problem. We have a manager who ignores trends and quantifiable data, and a pitching coach who wants every pitcher to become completely predictable.

So, by this logic, players should never be cut or DFA'd or traded because they have a commitment from their team based on a contract for so many years at so much salary.

I remember the first time Stoneman was hired and he was written off by some of the local hacks as a company yes man brought in to reduce the payroll.   The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I like how his responses are par for the course for the franchise (i.e the political response, tip your cap) yet it's inappropriate now.  If he came out guns blazing saying Mike calls the shots and Arte needs to stay out of the FO decisions people would go ballistic.  Also I think he did answer it when he said:

I said yesterday if someone isn't happy then money/timing/whatever don't really matter.  You have to take care of yourself first and foremost. 

It always seems that the statistical people in baseball are the level minded and willing to learn people.
The intuition guys seem like the arrogant people who think they are better than what numbers suggest.
 
So, yeah, it's easier to like Dipoto more than MS.
