  1. Weaver doesn't deserve his 3.91 ERA right now since his FIP is 6.42. Getting lucky big time. No way is that ERA going to remain that low with that FIP. On top of that, Weaver wasn't the Angels best pitcher in 2016. He was far from it. ERA and ERA+ were both really bad. Shoemaker was the Angels best starter last year.
  2. Trout can be good this year, not great, and good for the next three years, retire and will still have a lot of support for the Hall of Fame. His first five years has been that good that it might be enough to get him into the HOF. I mean, Sandy Koufax and Ralph Kiner are in the HOF and they had 5 great seasons.
  3. Be careful what most of your guys wish for. The last 2 years, Cron has started off very slowly and then heated up in like May or June. And I agree with Troll Daddy, Marte has been struggling as well.
  4. I'm sure Norris' career 5.04 ERA as a reliever is going to instill confidence in the Angels' fan base. He's the Angels killer though! He's the closer by default. But the Angels really need Bedrosian back. Great year last year. And if Bailey was healthy, he probably make a great set-up man. Remember, Bailey's first 2 years was great as a closer with Oakland.
  5. Saw a couple of things that I have never seen before in this series. Quick pitch from Stroman to Calhoun with no one on base that didn't count as a pitch and a catcher interference by Travis that wasn't actually catcher interference.
  6. If 2012 Hernandez, 2016 Bedrosian, 2014 Street, 2014 Morin, and 2009 Bailey were all on this Angels team right now, they might have the best bullpen that I have ever seen. And the starters would only need to go 6 innings per start.
  7. Pitching from the starters to the relievers is very shaky right now . Need a lot of guys to pitch good baseball. Lineup is kind of whack right now outside of Trout and, believe it or not, Simmons. If the starters can pitch good baseball, bullpen starts to pitch good, and lineup wakes up, I could see the Angels making some noise.
  8. In regards to Cron, he is very streaky. If you remember, in 2015, he was horrible and got send down like in May and once he came back, he started to kill the baseball. Then last year, he started off slow as well, looking at his numbers in April. Then, starting in May, he was really good and ended the year putting up solid overall numbers. I would wait until like May before I would start worrying about Cron.
  9. Every game counts the same way as others. Don't listen to those who tell you that September games are more important than April games. Halo fans would agree if looking at the 2012 Angels record.
  10. Watching Trout put up MVP seasons over and over is a silver lining.
  11. Here comes Alex "Wild Thing" Meyers to save the day! And to cap it off, he's going to end tonight's game by striking out Joey Bats for the 4th time.
  12. I don't know if he can stop their funk (probably not since he's too wild) but if being a starter doesn't work out, the Angels can always try to make him a reliever. Just throw it as hard as you can and with control would help as well. And there have been many great relievers who were terrible as starters. Look at Andrew Miller, Zach Britton, and Wade Davis, for example. Both flamed out as starters but their respected teams turned them into relievers and both have been great for years in that role.
  13. Anyone who is hitting better than him right now (ex: Simmons).
  14. Pujols deserves to be moved down the lineup but he won't.
  15. I don't know what has gotten into this guy (steroids? JK, probably not or maybe, fluke) but so far, he looks like the 2nd coming of Sandy Koufax. In 3 starts so far, he's 3-0 with a 0.44 ERA and 0.77 WHIP. Lets say he puts up the numbers that I posted in the "Title" and the Angels are looking for another starter (which, most likely, they will this offseason), would you want the Angels to sign Vargas to a big deal? Or are you worry that Vargas' a one year wonder and will pitching like a mediocre pitcher again?
  16. You must believe it. It's possible that the Angels might have one of those years where they shock everyone like in 2002. All they need is a few players to put up surprise performances and have their best players (or stars) play like the way they are capable of.
  17. Oh shoot, Trout has no grounded into 2 double plays in 16 games this year. On pace to ground into 20 double plays this year.
  18. Slump, Chuck? Remember, the great Mike Trout went 6 for 43 with 14 K's to start May of 2014.
  19. Very disappointed in Marte. One of the best all around players in our league today.
