  1. Remember the days when the Astros were a horrible team? Like 3-4 years ago? Drafting well high in the draft ( Springer and Correa for example) helps.
  2. He has great speed, like Revere. But the problem is getting on base and using that speed. His father was pretty good as a player. But this sounds like Trout is going on the DL. Ouch. Hopefully, if Trout does go on the DL, it'll only be the 10-day DL. Young Jr. is going platoon since he' right handed and Revere is left handed.
  3. Reading this article, Trout should get 90% of the credit for the Angels being where they are right now. Only 1 game under .500.
  4. Trout should be okay. X-Ray came back negative.
  5. To be honest, I don't think the Angels will be bad like they were last year. Trout's basically the only guy living up to expectations so far this year in the lineup and even exceeding it and their starting pitching hasn't set the world on fire either and they're just 1 game under .500. I don't expect Trout to keep his his torrid start but who knows. I do expect Calhoun, Pujols, Valbuena, Escobar, and once he gets back from the minors, Cron, to start hitting. It is much easier to win games if Trout cools off put still is great and the other guys heat up than Trout continues to have a historic start while no one else is hitting. Obviously, they need to weather the storm and hopes everything goes right and Richards comes back in August. If they can have a record of .500 or around that mark by the times Richards is supposed to come back, they have a chance at one of the two WC spots.
  6. It's a good thing the Angels will play the Braves at home. Looking at their record, they're good at home and bad on the road. Now, if Trout's out for the whole series, the Angels might get sweep. Then again, even if Trout does not miss a single game, I would not be shock if the Angels get swept by the Braves either. The season has been a roller coaster ride. Win 3-5 in a row, lose 3-5 in a row, win 3-5 win a row, and lose 3-5 in a row. There's just no consistency with the Angels so far in the season thus far.
  7. Trout starting to become injury prone like Stanton.
  8. With Trout 0-2 so far, he has a .297/.478/.797 slash line in 90 plate appearances in 20 games this month. Pretty amazing that he's not hitting at least .300 despite hitting a large amount of home runs with 9. BABIP was at .270 entering his game and went down again with that groundnut with the bases loaded. So I guess, according to BABIP, Trout is getting "unlucky?
  9. Most disappointing: Calhoun He still plays terrific defense in left field but his hitting has been super atrocious so far this season. Has a .212/.289/.328 slash line in over 200 plate appearances now. Pretty shocking to see because you would expect Calhoun to hit and see a lot of fastball since Trout is hitting behind him. But he's looked lost at the plate, Most Unappreciated: Maldonado Does not get enough credit to me but he's been outstanding defensively behind the plate, calls a good game, and seems to throw out would-be-base stealers every time they run on him. Offense not too bad either for a catcher.
  10. RBIs is what make the Triple Crown overrated. I am okay with batting average as a Triple Crown stat even though I am not a huge fan of it like I was years ago. Trout's teammates will cost him the Triple Crown though.
  11. So, Albert's BABIP in that last inning was .000 while Valbuena has a 1.000 BABIP at the same time. BS!
  12. Probably trying too much because no one else is hitting a lick.
  13. Pitcher scared of Trout. Fastball away for the strikeout.
  14. Doubt he'll get there since pitchers will be chickens and not give Trout any good pitches over the heart of the plate to hit.
  15. That was funny! Dude has been trash ever since a good rookie season in 2014.
  16. Well, after today's game, he has a slash line of .293/.482/.793 in 83 plate appearances this month. Ruth-like numbers. The thing is though, his BABIP (Batting Average Balls In Play) is just .250 at the same time this month. The league average BABIP is .302. Yup, I agree with you that he's been getting unlucky when he puts the ball in play (not counting home runs) this month. So Trout has been great and unlucky at the same time this month is what I am saying. LOL
  17. Ramos got away with one right there to Trout. Thanks to the ballpark.
  18. Imagine if the Angels pitchers pitch half of their home games at a bandbox like Yankees Stadium. Be a scary thought.
  19. More disappointing since the Angels had Pujols, Valbuena, Calhoun, Cron, Maybin, and Escobar all cmong off of nice years with the bat in 2016. Royals did lose Morales to the Jays in the offseason, so they were expected to be worse.
