Just going by numbers prior to this year, Pujols has always been, at the very least, a good hitter. An OPS of at least .767 is good. That was his lowest OPS in a season in his career prior to this year. But I think this year might be the first year that he ends the season as a below average hitter, just basing on OPS. Currently, he is slashing .235/.279/.375 for an OPS of .655. He has a long way to go before his OPS can be considered "solid".I thought he was going to continue to turn around his season after a solid May but here in June, he has been horrible. On top of that, he is on pace to strikeout over 100 times this year, which would be a career high. Ryu is a good pitcher but there should be no way Pujols strikes out three times in a game, especially against the same pitcher.
