  1. Young's career OBP is decent at best and OPS is terrible. If the Angels are betting that he can keep up his torrid pace, they will be burn. He is a career journeyman who is having his 15 minute of fame. Heck, even Phil Humber, who had a career ERA over 5.00, had one good season (2011) and pitched a perfect game the next year.
  2. He looks like he is on his way to becoming a late bloomer. Looked like a bust before last year but finally had a good year with the bat. He has always been a good defender with good speed but hitting was always an issue prior to last year. Still a lot of games left the Angels look smart by trading for Maybin. But for certain, the Angels can't get worse production out of their left fielders than they did the last two previous seasons.
  3. Everyone will have one of those years when they are not playing up to their lofty expectations. Trout will eventually have one of those years, unfortunately. He is so great that an off year for him is a career year for 99.99% of other players. I think an off year for Trout will look something like .285/.360/.500 with 25 home runs and 80 RBIs. Not sure about the stolen base numbers here.
  4. Angels don't have the offense like they did that year to even sniff close to 100 wins. And their starting pitchers are all putting up average numbers at best.
  5. Santiago really boosted his trade value prior to the trading deadline last year. Wasn't his ERA last July like under 2.00? And there were some Angels fans who were mad about the Angels trading him to the Twins.
  6. His performance tonight was 99.99% luck, 0.01% skill. Stay away from him because he is a below average player who happened to had fluke big game.
  7. A lot, dude. Offense must pick it up. Pujols, Calhoun. Escobar, Cron, Valbuena, and Maybin all needs to hit well and pray that Trout comes back without within 6-8 weeks, like he is supposed to. Starting pitching must be at least decent and the bullpen needs to continue to pitch well like they have been up to this point. Kind of like the 2002 Angels is what I am describing except they did not have a superstar like Trout.
  8. They do not know how to lose. Of course, they started off great two years ago before collapsing in the second half, so we will see if they will hit a cold streak. Could happen.
  9. Funny if he starts to hit like last season on the first day that a thread about him has been posted. And does not stop hitting for the rest of the season.
  10. Angels have a couple of guys who has great speed but can't hit on this major league team. Bourn would be another if he joins the big league team.
  11. Because he isn't paid a lot of money like Pujols is. Or is isn't a newcomer to the team like Maybin is. Probably a combination of both.
  12. Just horrible defense by the Braves. Playing defense like a high school team. Just embarrassing. Colon is done.
  13. Just looked up team ERAs. Outside of the Nationals, all of the other teams in the NL East can't pitch. Check this out: Atlanta, Miami, Philadelphia, and the Mets all have team ERAs over 4.50. Here it is the link: http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/pitching/year/2017/seasontype/2
  14. NL East has like the worst pitching staffs in all of baseball. I think it was last week that I looked up team ERAs and the bottom three teams with the worst ERAs were all from the NL East. The Nationals and the Marlins, I think, were the only two teams not in the bottom three in team ERAs. Yeah, it's pretty bad.
  15. Are they really in 2nd place? Not saying much because their division sucks.
  16. Braves are trash. No wonder why they are where they are. Gift runs. A real team would have been out of the inning a long time ago.
  17. What damage has Scioscia done? Pretty sure he wasn't the one who signed Pujols, Hamilton, Blanton, Burnett, Madson, among many others. And not to mention the Wells trade that did not worked out well at all. Am I missing another bad trade?
  18. No more talking to about team with a great fan base like the Angels.
  19. Always will be remember as the guy drafted right before Trout. And he's no Trout, that's for sure.
  20. There's always the Pujols 600 home run pursuit and the Espinosa show.
