  1. He has done a good job of hitting poorly. His slash line is awful this year.
  2. I don't see why the Angels shouldn't bring him back. He is not good defensively bit he can hit. If you can hit in the majors, you'll get to play a lot.
  3. False. That 127 ERA+ from Nolasco was last year as an Angel, a year in which he also sucked. He pitched poorly with the Twins last year so his ERA+ was below league average. But he was good way back in 2008. One year wonder like Samardzija because that was his only good year.
  4. Tough luck for the kid. Really love his potential. Still needs more experience but he has shown a lot of flashes of pitching like a star. Hope he can get healthy, stay healthy, and live up to his great potential. Starting to sound like Garrett Richards here and that is also true as well!
  5. Don't trust Samardzija. He is a teaser. He might look like an ace one game and then pitches like a scrub the next game. Does that a lot. Don't think Angels Stadium would turn him into a good pitcher. He has one good year in his career and that was a fluke. I mean, he is pitching in a great ballpark to pitch in and in the NL and is still lucky to be an average pitcher.
  6. He'll likely never be a star player but he can still prove critics wrong. Or he won't. A lot of players tear it up in the minors but struggle in the big leagues. Example would be Brandon Wood.
  7. And before we all know it, Chavez pitches like a Cy Young contender tonight while the Angels win in a rout.
  8. If the Angels starters are not careful, they will give up a bunch of homers at bandbox Yankees Stadium.
  9. Norris must have had too many Bud Light the last few days.
  10. Not an Angels fan but I feel bad for the team and the fans. Deja Vu all over again. Re-run of 2016 except this is worse since the offense has dealt with more injuries this year than last year. Most notably, Trout.
  11. Then their season is over. This stretch of games against really good teams will make or break their season. I don't think they have the firepower without Trout to overcome their struggles in the starting rotation.
  12. He wasn't hitting well before Trout got hurt either.
  13. No one said RBIs and runs don't matter. But it is not the best way to judge someone if they had a good season or not.
  14. I like RBIs as well but I still don't use it as a measuring stick to prove whether someone is having a good year or not. He has been clutch, I'll give you that. However, a lot of RBIs does not always mean that a player is having a good year.
  15. Yup. Most likely going to be the first player in MLB history to hit into at least 400 double plays.
  16. And to the Pujols supporters, don't use RBIs to prove to people that he is having a good year. His slash line is horrible. Great days as a player has been over for quite some time now. And it looks like he might finish his career with a career batting average under .300. Years ago, I thought that would never happen.
  17. Perfect, you posted a thread about Pujols struggling. Most likely, he will see this and start to hit again. But anyways, yeah, this is getting sad. Pujols has usually started off slowly with the Angels in like every year except 2014 but he would heat up as the season goes on. But this year, we are into June and he still is not hitting anything.
  18. Yup, you jinxed it. You should try to do a thread whose topic is about Pujols struggling.
  19. Hell no. Pretty sure the numbers say that because of this guy named Trout. He can make any pitchers park look small. And add in the fact that the Angels starters gives up way too many home runs because it is their nature. It is not a hitter's park but the Angels starters cannot take advantage of pitching in a good place to pitch.
  20. I'll start taking him seriously if he not only puts up good numbers for the rest of this season but also the next, whether he stays with the Angels or not. Sorry, he needs to prove a lot more than just 15 games. One good year? Most likely a fluke since he is a journeyman.
  21. I never said it wasn't doable.
  22. Astros are too many games out in front that I would not count on it although strange things has happened before. Teams can choke in the last month of the season like the (wait for it) 1995 Angels, 2007 Mets, and 2011 Red Sox.
  23. What I am trying to say is that a bad stretch can ruin the party. And yes, Trout's numbers that year were sort of screwed up because of a bad month in August. He just didn't hit the ball as hard as we nnoru see him do. And yeah, it was his wrist that bothered him even though he never admitted it.
  24. Still too early to be concern on where a team is in the Wild Card standings. Because we all know that one bad losing streak can ruin everything. Like a bad month can keep a team out of the postseason picture. Like the Angels' performance in August of 2015.
