  1. Big win for the Angels tonight considering who they will be facing tomorrow. He's great at home. I think the Angels will be happy with a split in this series.
  2. The award has lost credibility from me years ago. Like when Cespedes won the award 2 years ago! Yeah, Cespedes won it, not kidding!
  3. Hitting gets a C? That's being too generous. Hitting deserves something like an D- or F+ last week. Only thing that saved the offense from getting an F- is the "Sam Dyson's Blowup #3" game. Pujols' numbers last week were again bad. Don't want to say it though because I already saw his numbers last week.
  4. Be careful, Angels might be 6-11 after this 4-game series. I think they lost all their games against the Astros last year entering September before finally winning the series down in Houston in late September (I think it was a sweep).
  5. Trumbo is one dimensional. He has power and that is it. If he doesn't hit for power, the O's really wasted their money big time. Personally, I would not be surprise if they end up wasting money on him since he's still very streaky. So streaky that his good pop still might not make it up for how bad he is in terms of hitting for average and getting on-base.
  6. Only pitcher who has the potential to be great is Richards. He was great in the last season in which he didn't start the year with injury concerns (2014) and that year ended with him getting injured and missing the rest of the season in the second half of the year. You're most likely know what you're getting with Shoemaker, Chavez, and Nolasco. Decent starters who can put together a hot stretch but will not be consistent enough. Meyer might still figure it out but he's running out of time, sort of like you said. Don't know if this is his make or break year though but it's getting to the point where it's close.
  7. To make you happy, tell the teams that passed up on drafting Trout in 2009 MLB Draft on how they feel about not having him on their team. Santana is the only guy who I feel kind of feel confident in putting up a good season. Santiago is a mediocre pitcher at best who is riding his usual one hot streak per year. Same with Vargas. Vargas and Santiago both have never had a good season in their careers.
  8. Ever heard of something called a 'slump"? It's a long season, Sure, the Angels offense isn't producing right now since they made mediocre pitchers the last 2 games look like aces but it's still a long season.
  9. I don't know if they will repeat 2002. This Angels team looks like they don't have quite the starting pitching as they did in 2002.
  10. Angels might be 6-11 after the Astros series. Struggled big time last year against the Stros.
  11. Scared to throw fastball right down the middle to Pujols. BTW, I'm guessing Pujols, BABIP is below .200 this season so far.
  12. Cron should play more often. Had a nice season in 2016. Still streaky but a lot of good hitters are streaky. Surprisingly, does not hit well agaisn't lefties though.
  13. Stolen base #2 for Trout. Better start in that department than last year.
  14. The starters' ERA is almost as high as Joe Blanton's ERA (6.04) when he pitched for the Angels in 2013.
  15. Uh, you don't want to do that. Not with that shaky starting pitching.
  16. Trout owns Duffy, actually. 4 for 10 with a home run. One strikeout does not mean a thing. Everyone makes outs.
  17. Startling pitching for the Angels remains an issue. When your best pitcher (Richards) is hurt a lot of the time and your rotation has guys who are streaky, you get a shaky starting rotation.
  18. Trout!!! Got an RBI right there. This might finally be the season in which he puts up an OPS of at least 1.000. Too early but it's possible.
  19. Pujols has had very slow starts in April most of the time with the Angels.Slash lines in April from 2012-2016 2012: .217/.265/.304 2013: .252/.344/.417 2014: .280/.345/.589 2015: .208/.291/364 2016: .176/.242/.385 I actually forgot that he had a cold bat in April 2015 because his numbers at the ASB that year were phenominal and he made his first All Star team as a Halo but nope, also started in April. I'm going to say he heats up as the year goes on though. At least he has hit a home run this month, unlike in April of 2012. But one of these seasons though, he might not heat up as the year goes on. Age is a big reason for that. Eventually, he might put up a .220/.300/.380 slash line in a season and bring back the ugly memories of the Hamilton era.
  20. His average, OBP, and slugging percentage would be inflated if he didn't have 12 strikeouts. Can't get hits when you're striking out.
  21. Always been a good defender. Need to strikeout less and put the ball in play more.
  22. He could be the Angels' new Adam Kennedy. No big numbers but gets clutch hits when it counts.
  23. True but he has never had a good year at the plate though. Not likely going to put up a good season with the bat.
