The Angels will sign him, and he'll be Joe Blanton 2.0. Or they'll pass on him, and he'll go to the A's and be a Cy Young candidate.

I'm guessing that if we don't sign Ohtani, Eppler will sign a couple of these guys before the first of the year. 
It's also possible that this guy and others wait it out until next June so he has more options from teams that will have more international pool money.

I have been led to believe that the Angels can't do this. 
You have to say which pool you're using at the time of the deal, which I assume means the time of the agreement and not the physical. The fact that the Maitan and Soto deals became public leads to me to believe that MLB paperwork has already happened, and not just a handshake. 

The Mariners did give up 3 prospects, including 2 of their top 10.

I have to ask, Mr. Oracle: what is "Dipeutered" supposed to mean? It looks like it should rhyme with "neutered", but that doesn't make sense. Is it supposed to be a play on the word "putrid?" Seems like "DiPutrid" would be the spelling to go with there. I get that you want to insult the guy, but I am absolutely confused when I read whatever that is supposed to be.

He's definitely the MVP for 7/30/17 - 8/1/17. Batting .667 with 3 homers and 9 rbi.

Actually, Joyner is an interesting comp for Thaiss, statistically speaking at least. Snow maybe, but Joyner is closer. That said, I think Thaiss has a bit more power potential than post-1987 Joyner.

Plus, you know, promoting players before they get 12,000 ABs per level.
