ScruffytheJanitor reacted to tennischmp in Theory on our Starting Pitching.
My theory is that the starting pitching is just not very good. Richards had 1 good season, Ohtani is an unknown, and the rest are career 4.5+ ERA guys

I thought Scioscia hates young players?

ScruffytheJanitor reacted to laagamer in Let's Play the "ON PACE" Game!
I beg to differ. A HR every game with 80 games played won't lead the league?

ScruffytheJanitor reacted to Second Base in The Sho Hey Kid & Other Ohtaniisms
Shohei the meaning of being lonely.

ScruffytheJanitor got a reaction from ANAHEIMBOB in Is Kinsler changing our minds?
Honestly, a wet turd might be a pleasant surprise compared to the last few seasons. Kinsler isn't a HOF candidate, but if there was a "Hall of the really good players," he'd be in it. I always thought could be a Jerk-- bit I've also thought every team needs a jerk.

ScruffytheJanitor reacted to Second Base in Yankees put outfielder Jake Cave put on waivers
An Eppler special!

ScruffytheJanitor reacted to Second Base in Badly want new uniform color scheme...
I'd like them to incorporate the navy blue back into the color scheme, but that's just me. It think it'd offer a nice contrast and is sort of tipping the proverbial cap to our history as a team.

ScruffytheJanitor reacted to Chuck in OC Register: Veteran slugger Chris Carter has abandoned his all-or-nothing approach with Angels
So far it looks like Walsh is leading Fernandez and Cowart for the backup MI spot on the roster.

ScruffytheJanitor reacted to Second Base in The Official Los Angeles Angels 2017 Minor League Statlines & Prospects thread
There I'll be a lot of signings under 300k I think
-
ScruffytheJanitor reacted to Second Base in Bard spin rate read from fangraphs
Good stuff. I really hope the Angels keep him and Noe Ramirez around, because I feel they're both going to be very solid in the major leagues this year.

Remember when giving up Brandon Wood would have gotten us Miguel Cabrera? Good times.

ScruffytheJanitor reacted to Taylor in Baseball believes in Jeff Mathis and the hidden value of game-calling by catchers
I like how the first person quoted in the story (other than Jeffy) is Tony Reagins.

ScruffytheJanitor reacted to T.G. in OC Register: Longtime Angels ace Jered Weaver reflects on a successful career, a rough end and his new life
@Jeff Fletcher that was such a great read. I've been wondering about his life after baseball.
-
ScruffytheJanitor reacted to Blarg in Angels are lowering the right field fence to 8ft
Because Ohtani is left handed and they wanted him to hit like Ruth.
-
ScruffytheJanitor reacted to Ace-Of-Diamonds in SI top 100 players list(Angels mentions)
Other than Trout all of them are due to Eppler's skill at acquiring talent. Now Ohtani should join that list soon, hopefully Richards also.

ScruffytheJanitor reacted to bloodbrother in SI top 100 players list(Angels mentions)
No pitchers. Angels are screwed

ScruffytheJanitor reacted to Stradling in Mike Scioscia said Tuesday that he plans to employ a six-man rotation in 2018.
12 pitchers did that last year. So I guess we will need the rest of the starters to transition into the bullpen, considering we will now be going with a .4 man rotation based on “The Claude Standard”. The difference between a five man rotation and six is about a start a month.
