Mathis' broken hand a boon to Arizona's playoff push
Fixed.

ANAHEIMBOB reacted to wopphil in Pujols' 2017 OPS
He is done. He looks terrible, and the results match. It will be interesting to see how long Arte and Scioscia stubbornly insist upon playing him every game and batting him in the three spot.

ANAHEIMBOB reacted to Puget Sound Angel in Should Scioscia be in the running for MOTY?
Except for the Nationals, we have been fattening up on some pretty weak teams the last two weeks. Let's see what we do against the big boys.

ANAHEIMBOB reacted to floplag in Should Scioscia be in the running for MOTY?
He will be, especially if they actually hang onto the WC spot, but i dont feel he deserves to be as the players have in my view done this in spite of him, not because of him.

ANAHEIMBOB reacted to Homebrewer in Cowart-O-Meter
If he gets most of the starts and hits around 300 I'm pretty sure everyone, fans and FO and will be ecstatic. What I love is that Scioscia has no excuse not to play the guy....even though he's not even playing his natural position.

ANAHEIMBOB reacted to Ace-Of-Diamonds in Gameday Thread 7/30: Angels @ Blue Jays: Cowart is back
Babe Ruth hit 3 HR in a game and retired 5 games later. Hope Pujols hits one more today.
Oh well 4 more years of Albert.

It's stupid Scioscia's fault.

If you're referring to his farts, yeah, he'll have a few of those today.

Albert 0-14. Come on Pujols only 2 more months of baseball and you get another 5 months to rest your legs and do nothing. You can make it.

The only hunt they are in is the hunt for better baseball players

ANAHEIMBOB reacted to Dtwncbad in Angels Official Website: Scioscia remains at top of his game this season
Keeping it food related:
We have had plenty of Scioscia. As if he himself has been an all you can eat buffet and we are all slumped over in a red leather booth stuffed to our gills fighting the onset of a food coma after 17 seasons of eating the same old dishes.
That one serving of Calamari Steak in 2002 was good though, I will admit that.
No I am not looking forward to getting back in that same food line again. I can't even taste it anymore. Maybe it's good but the reality I am sick of it and not enjoying it so it doesn't matter if someone tells me it's good.
Please, please can we go to another restaurant?

ANAHEIMBOB reacted to ten ocho recon scout in Overrated / Underrated
Azhockey makes a good point about GA. good hitter, not great. to be fair though, as good as a point you make, i think he was underrated when he played. he was never a top HR guy, and his walk rate was bad...in an era where guys were hitting 30 plus home runs easy, and the top tier guys walked a lot. anderson swung more, his game didnt translate into those skill determiners. but at his peak (which was robbed by arthritus), he was a very solid hitter, in a stadium that kills lefties.
Good point on erstad, doc. im biased because i always loved the guy. but he definetely would be more appreciated in todays era. people forget just how good of an outfielder and baserunner he was. again, playing in the juiced era, he wasnt a big slugger so he wasnt as sexy as the power guys. but he was a beast with the glove, great runner, and a great baseball iq. and as stated, he bought right in to the old sosha ball philosophy of putting the ball in play and advancing runners.

ANAHEIMBOB reacted to Oz27 in Bud Black on Scioscia [Fangraphs]
Keep ignoring the point all you want, but what other teams do isn't relevant to the debate about what we should do. If they jumped off a cliff it doesn't mean we should too.

ANAHEIMBOB reacted to ABC in Kudos to Arte
Give me loud billboards over the ear fucking Arte gave everyone in attendance with blaring in-between-innings-ads.
Reason #2 why I stopped going to games.

ANAHEIMBOB reacted to Ohtaniland in $184MM Heyward Benched
Could you imagine how bat sh*t this place would be if Arte had signed 27 year old Heyward to $184M and he gave us less than 32 year old Hamilton gave us in his first season as an Angel. He's been incredibly bad this season and the Cubs have to be concerned. It's a blessing that Arte didn't sign Heyward because after his pathetic 2016 season Arte would probably slam his wallet shut for good.
