So, I think it is Arte's time to leave, but I wonder if MLB is suggesting to him to do so, based on some of his potential legal troubles.
Beyond that we should be careful of what we wish for, the grass is not always greener on the other side of the hill.
That all being said, I hope that we get a good owner who maintains high levels of payroll, as Arte did, and extends Shohei Ohtani and puts the proper infrastructure and tender loving care this organization needs from top to bottom.

Arte will make a lot of money from his investment in the team.
I think the last few years for his ownership have been about a real estate deal and extracting as much money from that as he can. Once that deal fell through he really doesn't have a reason to own the team anymore.

We also drafted Trout that year, didn't we?
We're like that story of someone who won the lottery, and it ruined our lives and we went bankrupt.

What's crazy looking back at that now, isn't just that they're all over .300, but how deep and complete the lineup is.
    An actual leadoff guy
    An actual MOTO
Second half of the order threats.
    Second leadoff guy batting 9th.
Power throughout. High average. Speed. Good on base guys.
2012/13 is like the last time we had an order that deep.

So for So Cal, sounds like Angel and Padre fans are out of luck so far in terms of ditching cable/dish.

His reaction looked really bad - I thought for sure it was torn cartilage or ACL - that's good news (hopefully).  🤞

I think it was a strange trade that nobody expected and Marsh was a likeable guy. That, coupled with nothing else to really follow with the Angels (aside from Ohtani) it’s been put under a microscope.

at this point, I'm pretty sure Quero is gonna have to perform at A+ or AA before the main prospect outlets put him on top 100 lists

Alternatively, we should try beating them more and being a better team, while also not striking out on pitches that are thrown at the hands. Bad teams don't have much of a leg to stand on.
Also why are we already trying to preemptively defend Nevin's potential jackassery?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Angels take a look at O'Hoppe in September, and that he has a decent chance of making the big league club out of spring training. Even if they want to start him in AAA next year, they're not going to do more than sign another journeyman back-up to keep a place warm for O'Hoppe, who I fully expect to be on the big league club no later than June or so next year, maybe earlier.
As for Walsh, I fully expect him to be the Opening Day first baseman next year. If he's sucking up the joint after 100+ PA, there's Thaiss and DiChiara.
Meaning, if the Angels spend money this offseason, it won't be at 1B/C.

At this rate, we'll have 26 or more threads about players who "suck" on the Angels and they will all be justified. Plus threads about coaches, the owner, front office, ticket takers, parking attendants, hot dog vendors, broadcasters, Team store salespeople, grounds keepers, scoreboard operator, ushers, and....
That's the kind of year 2022 has been.

I know catchers aren’t easy to come by, but Stassi seems to be following the same path as Walsh—having a really bad year, necessitating a decision about whether there’s a void or he will bounce back. He’s known for being solid defensively, but his framing is below average this year (47th percentile), his DRS is 1, and he’s thrown out 21% of potential base stealers. He’s also 63rd in pop time (12th percentile). And I haven’t even gotten to his bat yet. The barely .600 OPS wouldn’t be so bad if he wasn’t striking out at such an ungodly rate. His whiff % (9th percentile) and K% (10th percentile) are among the worst in the league. His xBA actually might be worst at 1st percentile. His sprint speed is 14th percentile, but which has turned him into a DP machine.
So a catcher that can’t hold runners, is below average at framing (soon to be unnecessary anyways), has a terrible pop time, is incredibly slow, strikes out a ton, doesn’t hit for power, or at all. Is he really our guy in 2023? And yes, I’m still in shock at what I saw tonight. Stassi made 4 consecutive bad plays.
