i understand what it is to hope for something, but do you actually think a collective that can't get a season played when it has unilateral authority to implement a season is somehow going to maximize their "idle time" to fix everything that's wrong with MLB?
i'd think not.
nothing will get fixed and manfred certainly won't be fired.

I guess what I wonder is, last year, we found 40 rounds worth of draftable players, and even signed our 39th round pick - pick 1,171 -  for $50k.
This year, everyone after the 5th round is just festering garbage?  
If that's the case, why do we ever draft past the 5th round?  Why does *anyone*?  
I think the Angels needed to sign someone, *anyone*, just so the fans know they're at least trying.

When you buy an asset it’s not a guarantee that it’ll return a profit.  If the owners absorb a loss this season then they absorb a loss.  That’s what happens when you invest sometimes.  Who gives a shit.  At this point I’ve come to accept that there may not be a season.  If they decide they’d rather cut their losses then play ball so be it.  That’s their right I guess.  But I’m not holding it against the players that they demand their agreed upon contracts.  I’ll be ready to watch on tv and visit the Big A when I can.  

The thing I hate most about this is the delay in shitting all over the Astros.

If what you say is true. Then when the CBA is up expect a missed season and a complete overhaul to the entire system. The players in baseball are making less with an open check book system then in a salary cap. Baseball will be changing, minor league system will be changing and the entire how you become a free agent will change. This is the start of a whole new baseball era. It should be exciting. 

Yes let’s do this. I hope this happens.
