I was never worried about confidence, Adell may be the most self assured prospect we have ever had.  Mentally he's the anti Brandon Wood.   My concern with him was the possibility that he might develop bad habits or fall into some traps while trying to "adjust".

I didn’t think it was time to panic but I did worry he was overmatched and might lose some confidence. In such a weird year, with no minors and no chance at the postseason, you give him some rope and hope he gains some confidence. Last night was encouraging. He can build on it.

We people stop with this "no one will trade Anyone for 20 games" how is this any different than other trade deadlines. They’re trading for someone for the rest of the season and the playoff run. To try and win a championship. 

La Stella is going to do well there. He’s a quality player in the right role

I liked La Stella’s contributions but he probably wasn’t In the future plans and the angels are sellers

That ship sailed.  Not going to happen anytime soon.  And who cares.  I’ve never had to think about whether I can get a provider that carries them.   Good I say.

Trea Turner was not a “throw in” guy. He was a major piece in the deal who was agreed to right away. 
 
The reason he was a PTBN is because there used to a rule that you couldn’t trade someone within a year of drafting him, so he had to continuing playing for the Padres for half a season even though everyone knew he was going to the Nats.
It was such a dumb rule that they got rid of it, because of that. 
 
This year, you could very well see PTBN’s be significant players who are very low level guys and therefore not in the 60-man pool. It’s another rule they are working around, just like with Trea Turner. 
 
However, in the case of the Mariners trade, since Walker is a rental I doubt it’s anyone major. Like I said before, there are guys like Patrick Sandoval out there. The Astros definitely wouldn’t have had a guy like him in their pool (if such a thing existed in 2018) but clearly the Angels liked him and felt he was a good return for a rental.

marsh is a waste at 1b. i wouldn't understand any long term plan that has him playing 1b.

doc do you seriously believe that there's any GM out there that wouldn't love to put 2020 champions on their resume? you think they're worried about if the other gm's will "respect" their championship? that's an absurdity.
angel fans would kill for a 2020 championship.
