  1. nobody can possibly believe that any organization would have anything to do with sterling. he's down and out, and once the clippers are sold out from under him the next time you hear of him will probably be his death from prostate cancer.
  2. i'd be pissed if the angels traded navarro. he has a role on this team, but the angels are giving it to someone else right now.
  3. i'm betting he goes for the comeback and not retirement. most guys don't like to go out due to injury. i wish him the best.
  4. are you familiar with the jackie robinson story about when he had received a credible death threat and the team was in the clubhouse trying to decide how to handle it? the story goes that they were debating whether or not to let jackie play, and a player whose name i don't remember suggested they all wear 42, completely ignorant to the fact that jackie might still be somehow easily identified. the idea of everybody wearing 42 today is a symbol of unity, in that somehow a black man would be indistinguishable from the other players on the field. it's not a trite ceremony.
  5. if i was rodney, i'd grandstand all over the angels. not because it's deserved or anything, but rather because i was rodney and it's the angels.
  6. wait a second, this was a 5-5 game? doesn't rajai know that late in a tie game the unwritten rules dictate you shut down the run game? homeruns only.
  7. you don't get retro uniforms?
  8. the thing that i look for in a jersey is history. i love the idea of a player today being able to step into a photo of players from any era of the franchise. it gives meaning and context to wearing the uniform. i hate all of the dark blue uniforms that look the same. in contrast to most of what i said, i do like the marlins uniforms, especially the black hat. i own one myself.
  9. rather than get involved with predicting what will never be known, i'll add that i really would have liked to see what he could bring. he was a hell of a pitcher at one time who retired very early. it would have been pretty interesting to witness.
  10. the text gets his message across, but it was the delivery that was so comical. speaking directly into the camera, had me rolling.
  11. the last few seasons, angel comebacks have been less common than post marital bj's. it's not hard to understand how they might feel like they're a thing of the past.
  12. as much as that's a good narrative, it's deflated by the fact that the red sox won the world series last year and put the rays out of the playoffs in the divisional round. i think the "bad blood" has a lot more to do with a divisional foe, meaning you get lots of opportunities to play against them, the red sox are in a ten game losing streak and the rays just swept them which included 3 straight walk offs. any of those qualifiers will get under even the thickest skin eventually. i really enjoyed it. like i said somewhere else, you've got to watch maddon's post game presser. so funny.
  13. joe maddon destroyed the sox in the post game interview. i highly recommend watching it, when he spoke directly to the camera was the stuff of managerial lore.
  14. i don't, but players love manrammer
  15. i like ibanez and respect his career, but the dude's got to go.
  16. no because those guys should be taking ibanez' spot on the roster. i'd absolutely rather have any mix of navarro/green/cron over an ibanez/kendry combo.
  17. to be fair to theo, he has been massively c**kblocked in FA. he thought he was getting tanaka and somebody else the year before that skips my mind now.
  18. i wold personally kick dipoto in the nuts if he signed morales to play over cron, navarro, or any of the rotational guys we have already.
  19. i think the real question is, how big is miguel cabrera? jesus, he made a power hitting 3b, in beltre, look small. the man's a beast.
  20. i disagree, but it's a subjective statement anyway.
