  1. so what happened to all the years in between the angels and oakland?
  2. agreed. richards would be a good start as a young major league pitcher that's killing it, but it would take a top ten prospect and probably another top 50 to get him. the angels have richards, but they don't have the rest.
  3. all kidding aside. i absolutely love that this leaked. i love this stuff. i swear to god if they published a book with all the inside scoop from front offices over an offseason, like a political tell all, then i'd devour it. it's a hell of an idea, honestly.
  4. someone should give you credit for this howie hits into another double play comment.
  5. hilarious like listening to the black box after an airplane crash.
  6. i shrug my shoulders at pujols now. it is what it is. i hope for the best for the angels sake, but i'm not really an albert pujols fan anymore. i'm sure it's his lack of production that causes most of that disinterest, but all of his "look at my numbers" comments have really left a bad taste in my mouth.
  7. i would just like to say that mcdonald's play on the grounder when grilli was pitching was siiiiick. that dude has lightning quick reflexes even at his age.
  8. boesch i agree with, but shuck finished 3rd in roy voting. some dumb ass team will buy that, i'm looking at you padres.
  9. his career says hi. he had a tremendously good rookie year, standard sophomore slump, then bounced back wonderfully last year. he could use a little more power, but it's respectable, especially considering his obp and ops are both good. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/hosmeer01.shtml
  10. it's pretty hard to argue against either viewpoint on this trade, both opinions have several valid points on their side. the truth is both guys have struggled this year and both have a history of being really good. hopefully, our new guy regroups and becomes that sneaky good deadline trade that puts us over the hump.
  11. it's definitely the farthest ball hit at kaufman.
  12. my favorite part of the video is while trout is rounding the bases escobar(ss) and moustakas(3b) are looking at the jumbotron. when the opponents are getting a 2nd look at your shot, then you know you just did something really impressive.
  13. i expect him to be the closer, and i guess i am ok with that. grilli doesn't suck, he's pretty good, but he's having a bad year. IF he can turn it around here, it'll be a major step in the right direction. i'm positive about this trade, hopefully he can live up to my expectations. i'd also like to point this out, razzing jeff fletcher a bit. after all his posts suggesting we were freaking out about frieri and that he was a much better closer than we were giving him credit for. here's a convenient graph representing opinions on ernesto frieri: AW.........jerry dipoto..............................................................................jeff fletcher.
  14. how is 45 and 70 the same number, or even close for that matter? i actually just reread your post and maybe you misinterpreted laamike's post? it seems like a strange response reading it again. perhaps i just missed the point.
  15. maybe someone should show jepsen a pitch to use against lefties. i know, it's a pretty ground breaking idea. calm your tits.
  16. although it reads as inciting, there's a lot of truth to this post. he's got to get his faceball movement back and he needs that legitimate second pitch. is he throwing the four seamer or is it that the 2 seamer is just flat? i don't get to watch to many games, i'm forced to check in on the gameday.
  17. we don't want alex torres. he gets wild. he had a nice year with TB and he's a decent to above avg. reliever, but the angels bullpen can't handle anymore guys who like to issue walks.
  18. frieri looks like he twisted an ankle. i see a DL stint in his near future. he needs time to fix his mechanics...ahem...i mean let that ankle heal up.
  19. i think it's pretty clear he'll be extended. i'd imagine, all things considered, that arte is happy with this years results, so far.
  20. i'm not saying that he is, but every story i've ever read about "how unconventional training got a guy back to the top" has always ultimately resulted in steroid usage. it's just the manufactured story as an explanation. i'm not saying kazmir is, but that's been the case for me historically.
  21. ohhh, i'm sorry lou. we were looking for freese. the answer was david freese. care to go for double jeopardy?
  22. it's a joke that a major league team is playing in a legitimate dump like O.co.
  23. you haven't been watching him very much, have you? he's been awful.
