  1. You went on and on about how he bailed on the team and was hurting his future employment opportunities: http://www.angelswin-forum.com/forums/topic/21653-rosenthal-tensions-return-between-front-office-scioscia-update-dipoto-resigns/page-41 "Because an employee with character doesn't bail in the middle of the season. Dipoto is seriously hurting has future. Maybe that is why there is a reconsideration on both ends." http://www.angelswin-forum.com/forums/topic/21653-rosenthal-tensions-return-between-front-office-scioscia-update-dipoto-resigns/page-44 "Because bailing in the middle of the season shows lack of commitment to the players and team he built. Thus hurting your future employment opportunities." http://www.angelswin-forum.com/forums/topic/21653-rosenthal-tensions-return-between-front-office-scioscia-update-dipoto-resigns/page-45 "Quitting at the end of the season wouldn't have hurt his future. Quitting in the middle of a playoff race devestates it. Sorry if that is hard for people to understand." Even better than those quotes and the others like it was you talking down to everyone because of whatever professional athletic experience you had that convinced you the team and players felt let down that he didn't wait until the end of the season. Jeff Fletcher squashed that with one sentence telling you that you were wrong. Edit - he actually did it in multiple sentences and oddly enough you stopped posting after his response: http://www.angelswin-forum.com/forums/topic/21717-dipoto-speaks/page-8?hl=dipoto
  2. I'm confused since some people here were adamant that he was letting this franchise down by not sticking it out and no one would want to hire him because of it.
  3. It's genius really. You get used to paying say $3.25 a gallon, prices go up to $4.00 a gallon and people know they're getting ****ed but it's not like you have a choice. Then once prices go down to $3.75 a gallon everyone is happy because it's better than the $4.00 a gallon you were paying a few weeks prior. Meanwhile you're still paying more than the $3.25 a gallon but you don't think about that as much because you're just happy to "save" $0.25 a gallon.
  4. They sometimes have issues distinguishing between little old ladies delivering papers and a former sniper so lets give them some time on the body count.
  5. The NFL is far and away my favorite of the big 4 US sports but even I don't make it a point to watch preseason games. I remember seeing that the game was on yesterday and checked the stats out of boredom and as expected I didn't recognize any of the guys playing.
  6. I don't think he's regressed I think the league adapted to him and frankly he hasn't made the necessary changes because he's a one trick pony. Physically the guy is a freak between his speed and arm strength but we've that when it comes to mobile QB's that alone doesn't lead to long term success. The analysts and announcers love to slobber over how hard he throws but that goes out the window when you don't throw accurately, can't hit your receivers on their routes or just make poor decisions. Frankly I enjoy watching him fail because he comes off as a pompous douche. As far as Smith goes even in a league that is rife with dumb asses he can take comfort knowing that he's one of the biggest ones. I think at least one Sunday this upcoming season I'll go to the local 49'er bar that was a Charger bar about 5 years ago (cough bandwagon) just to watch them wallow in misery.
  7. I'm not really enthusiastic about the the current front runner from either party being entertaining above all else. I get that it's early in the process but that's the epitome of the American Idol mindset where too many people are more interested in entertainment than things that actually matter. Maybe the next step is changing it so people can vote from their phones...
  8. Edited for accuracy. For the record I'm fine with the moves the Angels made as far as not shipping off good prospects for rentals but they're essentially throwing sh*t at the wall and hoping something finally sticks. I expect at least 1 of the acquisitions to step up but I just wonder if the always popular platoon will screw with any momentum someone has. Hoping for the best.
  9. There was nothing funny about that series. The Angels win game 1 when hardly anyone predicted them to after a long/late series with the Yanks then they never recovered after that call. All these years later I'm not pissed about that play, not at Eddings and not at AJP rather I'm disappointed about the fact that it all went down hill after that. If the Angels go up 2-0 who knows how the rest of that post season plays out.
  10. Rodney's made 35M and been in the league over 10 years. Plenty of other douchebags who are less successful get emulated every day.
  11. The Angels are on pace to win 89 games, their biggest competition in the division is a team pretty much no one thought would be a threat this year and if the season ended last night they'd be a wild card team. Not sure I made a win prediction before the year but they're ahead of any expectations I had. I'm anything but disappointed.
  12. I think it's overblown but break the rules whether it's a rule others admit to breaking or not agreeing with and you do the time. I agree they'd be better off just dropping it but at 37 I'm guessing Tom is seeing his window closing and wants that next ring to pass Montana and Bradshaw. Kraft already said yesterday he thinks the league screwed up and won't be telling Brady to let it go any time soon.
  13. Nothing wrong at all with the moves as they give us average players who are upgrades over the garbage they'll replace. That said as much as I didn't expect the Angels to get a big name as usual I read the articles/threads about better and more expensive players available and had a sliver of hope the Angels would end up with one of them.
  14. This is like a child waking up on Christmas morning 2015 and instead of getting a lump of coal in his stocking he finds toys from the 80's that aren't vintage or collectors items.
  15. I honestly didn't even know he was still in the league but I'll chalk that up to being on Tampa.
  16. I seem to recall a thread like this a few years ago where I think it turned out to be something very underwhelming after pages of boardgasms. No offense but I'm not going to hold my breath.
  17. Would I root for Puig if he were an Angel? Of course but he isn't and I don't think he ever will be because of the cost and his attitude. Puig was a monster when he first came up but now he's more hype than superstar. Add in his attitude and I don't want a repeat of Jose Guillen which possibly cost the Angels a WS.
  18. I understand hunting for population control but something like this is just pathetic. You pay big money for someone else to take you out to where the lion is to shoot it. You're not doing it to benefit the local ecosystem and you aren't going out on your own hunting your prey for survival. I hope this guy gets mauled or stampeded by any wild animal.
  19. I honestly don't mind given that they gave up nothing and know it's likely not the last move they make but I can't help but read this blurb from sportsline and laugh: "The 34-year-old Victorino has suffered through an injury-plagued season and has been unproductive over the last two years. He owns a .245/.324/.298 slash line in 2015." Unproductive, old and cheap in terms of trade pieces...Stoneman probably couldn't say yes fast enough.
  20. Nut up and get back out there Burns my fantasy team needs you!
  21. Like a lot of things drinks or liquors seem to be cyclical. In my early 20's jaeger was the popular shot or mixer and maybe about 5 years ago suddenly fireball was the go to shot. Now you can find Moscow Mule mugs at Target and a lot of bars have it listed on their menu so you know it's current run or popularity is on life support.
