They aren't very good and have luckballed their way through the playoffs. 

Phillies re-signed RHP Jerome Williams to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.


The deal includes performance-based bonuses that could carry the total value up to $4 million. Williams was a nice surprise down the stretch this year for Philadelphia, posting a 2.83 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 38/17 K/BB ratio in 57 1/3 innings (nine starts).

They're not as good as Giants and will flop a lot more presently.

Whenever I listen to Joe Buck I get the impression he'd rather be anywhere else than announcing. It's like listening to the homer announcer when the team is doing badly except it's for every team. Double so when he's doing baseball instead of football.

The A's made all those trades to get starting pitching so they could own in the playoffs. Meanwhile the Royals haven't lost a game and their ace has a nickname of "Big Game James" and he's anything but. I want to know what they think about that

Exactly what will we be missing when Howie is gone? The 100+ strikeouts for a guy with little power? The mental errors in the field? The no-show in the playoffs? The ABs with absolutely zero game plan or adjustments to what the pitcher is doing? I'd really love to know what this magic is that we don't appreciate now. **** Howie and his overly sensitive little ass. 

Let Green/Beckham battle it out and trade Howie.

It is proof positive though of how important a strong 7-8-9 innings bullpen is in the post-season.
Without K-Rod/Donkey/Percy in 2002, we don't win a WS title. 
Herrera/Davis/Holland in 2014 have been about as good as any 7-8-9 has ever been in a season.
 
We are getting there.   I still think Rasmus will ultimately become a great 8th inning guy, similar to but not exactly like Davis due to being a fellow former starter with 4 different pitches.
I can see Rasmus/Smith/Street being the 2015 guys.

I don't really see what Jesus Christ has to do with this anyway.  He would have at least gotten a couple of hits with runners on base in the series.
