If you can bolster a weakness, when you're dealing from a strength, you do it. 

I am very concerned with Santiago against Oakland.  They are very patient.  Maybe we should consider Shoemaker at #5.  However, lets give Santiago a few more starts to see if he can right the ship.

First thing I would do is dump Salas and then see where we're at.  If we weren't so thin at SP I would say maybe we can give Santiago a look in a setup role.

The bullpen is just as bad as last year.................hopeless!

I remember when Napoli went to Texas everyone was saying he would hit 40 home runs and then when he went to Boston it was again, he is going to hit 40 bombs over the Green monster. His best was 30 in Texas and only 23 last season. Cross out 2011 career year and Naps is the same guy the Angels let go.
 
Trumbo started off whacking the ball hard but his slash line is already representing close to last season with a .235  average and OBP under .300. His last 5 games .105/.227/.316/.543 with 5 strikeouts. April numbers are too small of a sample size but the indicators are he is the same guy and will provide the Diamondbacks the same performance he gave the Angels and that is a lot of wasted at bats.

Philly is in the same position as us---way overloaded with underperforming/injured veterans, including Lee.....the last thing we need to do is take on another mega contract....

We know what the starters can do for 5 innings and we know what the back end of the pen can do. The success of this season depends on innings 6 and 7 in close games. Would you prefer Richards or Skaggs with a little juice left in the arm or Jepsen and Kohn? If they get there by pitching to contact then so be it.

Sorry guys but the Blanton comparisons are laughable.
