I would like to bring Urshela back. He's like a more reliable Fletcher.

I always felt Pujols had one more MVP season in him after signing in Anaheim. I feel Trout should consider makeing a small adjustment to his approach and swing to show his full skill set as a hitter.

I feel like the baseball gods owe us a few of these types of success stories this upcoming season and for our key regulars to stay healthy.
    We're due.
    Great article @ryanmfalla!!

What’s more likely, us getting production out of Plesac or them getting production out of Barria?

I have been an Angels fan since 1970.  I’ve had gear with all the logos.  I like the red jerseys, and the city connects.  I think they should consider going back to the road grey uniforms with Los Angeles across the front.

Forgive me. I was thinking the time they were in Anaheim.   They still will be California Angels to me.

Like you said, they looked at things differently 50 years ago.  Hell just by watching Hollywood movies  of those times, its no wonder why domestic violence was so common.

At least we will likely see the end of the "Tungsten Arm" BS... Sadly, it's gonna be replaced by all the "He's actually having fun playing baseball now" BS instead. While I certainly appreciate how great he is, I won't root for him because I hate the team he's on now, simple as that. I always appreciated Derek Jeter too, but I never rooted for him for the same exact reason. I suspect I'll be lightning quick with the remote to change the channel when his highlights come on for awhile. If the Halos can get back to winning someday, that will make this all a lot easier for everyone here to not care about Shohei leaving anymore.

    Missing the point.

Angels had a choice to trade him or not.  They had to ask are we going to re-sign him or not.  If not, then they should trade.  Would it have turned the Angels into champions?  Maybe not, but getting assets in return for a diminishing asset was the smart play.  They were not smart

At the trade deadline:  Trout, Rendon, And Drury were all on the IL.  Yes we were close to a playoff spot but with the injuries things were bleak.
It was a dumbass move not to trade him if you werent all in.

As long as you’re getting more value than you’re likely to get out of a 61st overall pick, it’s a win

My point is he is given money (either in direct payment or in deferred payments) for ten years of work.  The entire contract should be based on ten year average.  Thats all.  I don't  mind Ohtani going to the Dogs.  I mind the "loophole" to avoid the tax.  I dont like it.

stormngt got a reaction from mmc in Bobby Valentine: Perry was set to trade Ohtani at deadline, Arte stopped him
It doesnt work that way.  For ten years, Ohtani will get 2 million for direct pay, and another 68 million put into a deferred account.  Dogs pay 70 million for ten years.  Ohtabi collects 10 million fir furst ten years and then collect 68 million a year for the next ten.

Look, the simple fact here (allegedly) is that Ohtani would have stayed an Angel if Moreno would have matched the offer.  He did not.
After the debacles of Pujols, Hamilton and Rendon, you can understand that position (to an extent).
But the insanity of trading the farm away at the end of July (and not trading Ohtani) for an outside chance of getting to the playoffs can’t be understated.  It sets the club back years.
And was it all because an aging owner, faced with his own mortality, figured he’d give it one shot before he sells or dies?  That’s a selfish and terrible way to run a sports franchise.
And it also makes it clear that had he sold to a competent group or individual last offseason, Ohtani would likely still be here as the crown jewel of their new franchise.
    So basically: Fuck you Moreno.
