There’s a lot of reason to point to the team being a clown show, but Mike Trout needing surgery isn’t one of them.  Be better. 

That is the saddest part.  A guy who has been dominant for a decade and loyal can't stay on the field. 
 
This is a gut punch.

Can't even enjoy a win for 24 full hours before bad news happens. Man the baseball gods just hate this team. 

I like that Wash is expected to fix everything in two months. 

He did have nearly 300 plate appearances in the first half of 2022 and in July, before he was traded he started 20 of 24 games.  He was getting the playing time.  I have no idea if Nevin communicated with him, but he certainly played him.  My thoughts on Maddon is he was billed as this incredible communicator, but that never seemed to be the case. 

He was hitting over 300 with high obp at SLC. Angels should just have kept David Fletcher.

This might be Suarez last game. 

4 runs on 3 homers. Not the greatest value per homer.
It would be nice to actually see runs scored in other ways than the long ball. And it would add some excitement too.

At this point the Orioles have progressed and are playing like a Tier 1/2 team as oppossed to a Tier 2/3 team a month ago.
The official first run of the crowd sourced Tiers should be out soon.

This is a triple-A team. The sooner you realize that, the more fun you have watching.

At least it doesn't for the Angels.  It's still amazing to me that the bullpen is seemingly a problem every single year.  At some point, it seems like just sheer dumb luck would give them a good year overall, but, nope, not recently.

Or it shows how it is still very early and a game or two doesn't matter all that much. I mean, 7-8 vs. 8-7.

Rengifo and Adell need to play everyday. 

I get the premise of the article, but Ron Washington is certainly not managing like someone intent on "seeing what they have." Otherwise you're playing Adell and Moniak over a so far awful Aaron Hicks. And mixing Adell in with Sano, and finding ways to get Rengifo at bats too. He has like 15. And 5 hits. Ron is managing in reverse--my vets can be trusted, my young guys need to earn playing time. That's what playoff contenders do, hoping to get a spark or catch lightning with a young guy. 
Just to emphasize -- Adell and Moniak are OUT OF OPTIONS. They either sit the bench watching Hicks go 0-4 with 2 k's every night, or they play. They can't send them down to get at bats. It's just plain silly to have brought in Hicks if this was your goal all along. 

There was no room for him. Needed the 40 man roster spots for 5 different journeymen relievers who will pitch 5 innings each and be DFA'd by the trade deadline.
