Ben Weber? Technically a waiver pickup in 2000 if we're splitting hairs here, but dude was a huge part of that World Series team.

Finally just watched this. What a unique, funny, exciting, thought-provoking, and moving film. I hope it gets some Oscar nominations.

It was pretty awesome. Probably the most unique movie I’ve seen in awhile. Bad-ass action sequences, yet really deep and poignant throughout, while also being really really funny.

Leaving tomorrow for Spain. Ended up settling on a Madrid>Granada>Malaga>Seville>Toledo>Madrid itinerary. Gives us two nights everywhere other than Malaga and Toledo. Also cuts down the rail travel times to 3-ish hours or less between every stop.

I think this is the key point.
Maddon may or may not have been a great manager. I have no idea
But this team has been poorly constructed for years. And I used to point this out all the time in the Sosh years.
Managers can lose games. Pulling or not pulling pitchers at the right time.
But it's hard for anyone who's not playing the game themselves to make the guys actually playing good or bad.
Most people from this board could have had good success "coaching" in the 2000s, with that roster. Most of us couldn't do much worse with this lineup.
"Hey, Shohei! Go out there and try to hit the ball hard! The rest of you.... uh... try! Try really hard! Try your best!"

I got my dad’s thoughts on what happened today and he says the real danger is not Trump but “socialism” … he did like the Medicare part of the spending bill though!…

Biden running for re-election is the final nail in the coffin for the Democratic party.
There's no way he's winning. People will still vote against Trump (assuming he's the GOP candidate) but it won't be anywhere near what it was in 2020. A lot of people are hurting right now, and Biden has done fuck all. He's been useless. And the motherfucker gonna be 81.
I kinda want Newsom to run and win just to see how mad you guys can get. But I don't think he's a good candidate either.

Crunching the numbers will identify symptoms of the "Stars and other players" management strategy.  Invest hundreds of millions for stars, leaving less to invest in the other players and player development.  Some stars investment is unavoidable, Trout and, soon, Ohtani.  Others were completely avoidable.  Quantifying the performance deficiencies of the other players will explain why the Angels are losing, but not address the systemic cause.

Texas has been talking succession since the day after the Alamo.  So using whatever is convenient to further that viewpoint is just in the Texan DNA.

I don't think it will, because that's an actual issue that doesn't necessarily effect them directly. Plus there's a lot of Dems who support open borders.
Rising gas prices and rising prices of foodstuffs will have a bigger impact because it directly effects them. Also Biden sucks. We all know he was elected because he wasn't Trump. And the Dems don't have a better candidate, which is pathetic, though not surprising.
