markb reacted to Brandon in Just another Puig douche bag move
The faux outrage with Puig here is on tmz levels.
The purists hate guys that try to do too much and are aggressive with being successful if the attempts don't succeed.
I bet the dudes bitching about him saw him fly straight into the wall the other day and think he's being a primadonna.

markb got a reaction from DW711 in Nolan Arenado Hitting Streak
They do have 4 guys over .800 OPS on the road as well, and Morneau's splits are almost even.
Tulo's .608/.677/1.098 slash at home is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen with a decent sample size though. His road numbers are still all-star worthy, they just look worse because he walks on water at Coors.

Hamilton should be ready thumbtime.

We had something pretty good going in Washington, gearing up for a sweep going into the bottom of the 9th.
Last night Weaver comes up big, then Trout and Pujols with the clutch hits to tie it tonight.
Both times.....
LOL NOPE SORRY GUYS

I like the hard questions these reporters ask. Yeah, Mike, hell - Ernesto should grow a handlebar mustache. We could call him Fingers Frieri.

Stewart, Ibanez, and Cron vs. David Robertson. I like our odds.

Yeah if Stewart had let it go it would've bounced about 6 times before reaching Conger.

Cron in LF?
His range at 1B only extends as far as he can fall on his face in either direction...

markb got a reaction from Taylor in Girardi getting tossed
My favorite part about all this is it shows how entitled the Yankees and their fans are about getting calls. People are complaining that Diaz's strikezone started to greatly favor the Angels after Girardi was tossed, except....
Shawn Kelley, who also got tossed, actually got one bad call -- in his favor
Thornton just sucked
Claiborne's called balls weren't even remotely close
Frieri's half of the inning was also called accurately
lol at the Yankees and their fans

I re-sorted the list just for you. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=al&qual=0&type=8&season=2014&month=0&season1=2014&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=7,d
If only we had Chris Colabello instead of Trout.

so the board should be nothing but threads about how great everything is? sounds really interesting. look, professional beat writers are discussing it, I think it's a worthy topic for a message board. when was the last time you contributed anything to this board other than a snarky comment aimed at someone else?

markb got a reaction from Jim in Jeppy since April 1
You're the one who tried to use earned runs to make a comparison between a reliever and a starter, which is just about as meaningless a comparison you can make between starters and relievers, particularly over such a sample size. Maybe fangraphs can add a "Miss. Cleo" tab to determine when runs probably would've scored to help clear these things up.

Your example ignores the 7 inherited runners that scored on Jepsen over that span, the last two of which, coincidentally, were credited to Santiago. So, cool comparison.
