I couldn't agree more. I think someone is going to get a great deal on Shields, and I don't think it will be the Angels. Which sucks, because I think he could be worth a few wins.

That's a big if. Darvish has had recurring back issues. Holland will probably do something holland-esque and hurt himself at a crash test dummies concert. I actually expect gollardo to do well. After that, it's gas cans and unproven youngsters.
Their offense should again be one of the worst in the AL.
Their bullpen is meh at best.

Not as big a deal as people are making it out to be.  He might miss a month of the season from this, but its more important he comes back healthy and produces.
 
If by some blind miracle he can be a legitimate middle of the order bat for a World Series run, we would all forgive him in a heart beat.

Here's how I see it. 70% on here allows this to add more fuel to the Hamilton hate. 30% say the Angels are better off without him because of his lack of production. My opinion is he needs surgery and that isn't on him it's more on our medical staff or a poor plan to evaluate it. Why have him wait until February to take full swings? The club should have monitored this more closely. It sucks but I feel no different about him today than I did yesterday.

Also, I love how smart and competitive he was in the second half last year. He really stepped up his knowledge and competitiveness and led the Angels into the postseason, and then was particularly smart and competitive in his ALDS start.

Id go 3 years 50 mil. That's pretty reasonable, and he's got upside to outperform that. He's more talented than cj, and he has a longer track record of success.

This is an emotional thing for me. I feel like I have found something tangible that still remains of what was a very big part of my father's life. It's hard for me to explain. In the same museum, also preserved for display, is one of the F-106s that was among the final group of planes he worked on before he retired. I hope that they have also kept one of the F-102s, one of the planes I sought shade from the summer sun under when I was about ten years old.
 
As far as the tail number goes, it is one of several bits of what I have up until now considered useless trivia circulating in my brain that I would never need again (like the VIN off the first new car I bought, a 1973 Plymouth Satellite Sebring).

It's absolutely crazy. I spent much of yesterday researching whether a client can terminate someone for filing a false workers comp claim. The very fact that my client is having to spend money determining whether they can terminate someone for committing fraud is just remarkable.

Anyone who doesn't think Shields helps us by a few wins in 2015 is crazy. The question is whether you want to be paying him $18-20 mil per year in 2017 and 2018.
