Sutton said he believed it was an Angels decision, and suspected it came from the top of the organization.
“I know it wasn’t on the baseball side. We always communicate with [manager] Joe [Maddon]. It’s a pretty small organization,” Sutton said. “And very few people, I think, in that organization, have the power to influence something like this besides the highest level.
“So it’s my assumption that it was leadership at the highest level, in ownership.”
Sutton said he never met with owner Arte Moreno during his brief stint with the team. He said he wasn’t given a reason for why he was fired, but assumed that his work “wasn’t exactly what they wanted.”
Sutton said the decision came “completely without incident,” noting he hadn’t faced any discipline in his tenure with the Angels.

I actually tend to dislike small rule changes that take us farther away from some of the long standing rules in Baseball for the sake of speeding up the game. I understand the method behind them because a lot of the younger generations just don't have the attention span, but I guess I'm more of a traditionalist, but to be fair I'm also a hypocrite because I do like the DH in the AL, but I also like the distinct differences between the AL and NL.
I still wish there wasn't Interleague play because it makes the WS feel more special.

I actually liked Sutton slightly more than Matty V. Neither one of them hold a candle to Victor IMHO but I thought they both brought different strengths. Daron was definitely a huge homer but I personally didn't mind that.
 
This is a huge surprise especially if Vasgersian doesn't do all the games for the rest of the season.
