I'm not sure where you stand when it comes to JD, but the Baldoquin deal and subsequent loss of Vlad Jr seems to have been for many, a sort of wake up call that maybe he wasn't a JeDi afterall.  Missing out on Vlad Jr ranks right there with the decision to let Ryan leave as a FA as the all time biggest mistakes in franchise history imo....
On the plus side, so long as those two guys are in Seattle there is still the possibility the Angels will benefit.

Mostly for his work on the farm.  As far as the major league team goes, I like the trades but not many of the FA signings.  I think, as another poster said, this is a big off-season.
We will see what this team looks like post-Sosh and that look will be all Eppler.

I really don’t know how the Simmons trade can be looked back on as a good one. We’re at least 2 seasons away from competing and we haven’t done anything with Simmons on the roster. Simmons only has 2 years left on his contract and he’ll be 31 turning 32 when his deal is up. 
Newcomb on the other hand has 5 years? Of club control left, is only 25 and is already becoming a legit starting pitcher in the league. 
Does Simmons make our team better? Of course but looking back we’d have been way better off keeping Newcomb. So imo you can’t pat Eppler on the back for this deal. If we were competing and making the playoffs during the last couple season with Simmons it would be a different story.
