AngelsAndRamsFan got a reaction from Vladdylonglegs in Angels trade international money to Mets
We'll have to remember this comment the next time you go on a rant.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to Chris in The Deadline's Magic Number
We aren't going to contend with a 2 man rotation and 2/3 of OF's hurt.
-
AngelsAndRamsFan got a reaction from Scott34 in Calhoun
Of course. I didn't think this was a serious thread. It's not like this wasn't discussed in the two other Calhoun threads on the front page.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to Ohtaniland in The future of Trout
One problem here. Jered Weaver stayed here and gave the Angels a hometown discount. This is not Mike Trouts hometown.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to monkeywithahalo in Positives in the Minor Leagues
The only positive this really tells us is that the front office is good at identifying washed up thirty-something prospects from the independent leagues that can put up decent numbers against baby-faced prospects. JARRETT GRUBE 4EVA!

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to monkeywithahalo in Weaver, Wilson, Vargas, Hanson...?
Hanson looked great, but let's give him a few more weeks of throwing 94 MPH before we hand him a 2014 rotation spot. The guy's shoulder has the structural integrity pudding. He is a risky guy to have in the rotation because you never know what he is going to give you or how long he will stay healthy. If the Angels really want to contend again, they have to do better than Hanson as their third-best starter. Unless Richards suddenly realizes his potential, that upgrade isn't coming from within.
-
AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to Turd Ferguson in Weaver, Wilson, Vargas, Hanson...?
If Hanson was hitting 94 last night, we should trade him now.
-
AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to Scott34 in OK Jerry, you have my permission
Do it, you idiot.
Kendrick, Aybar, Callaspo, Trumbo, Frieri, Downs, Iannetta, Wilson should all be available. This "piecing together" bullshit isn't working. If we keep using the Pujols/Hamilton excuse, we won't win for a decade. Sorry you made mistakes in signing them, but they shouldn't stop us in making the team viable. This is a 2-3 year rebuild.
It isn't going to get better in 2014 with this roster.

Jerome has 1 good start in his last 6 games. That's about as bad as it gets errr i mean
Jerome Williams is the best pitcher on the Angels and he is handsome and smells amazing and also he is good at video games.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to nate in Should Scioscia be retained at the end of the season?
The reason is that you can't succeed with one voice leading your organization for such a long time. Change is necessary. For the same reason that the most successful companies go through CEOs on a fairly regular basis.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to Reveille1984 in Trade Trumbo? Are y'all nuts?!?
Ahhh, the dreaded win, if no pitcher was responsible for them then all teams would have a win total of zero.
The point is to remove as much circumstantial and extraneous statistical data from an individual player's performance as possible. The very definition of an RBI is that it's dependent on what the players hitting in front of you are doing. Would Cabrera be on a 160+ RBI pace on the Marlins? This is why stats like ISO, wRC+, WAR, OBP and etc. have been seeing more light of day. The same way a 4.50 ERA pitcher can get 15+ wins if pitching for a great offensive team, or a middle reliever can pick up a win in specific circumstances.
RBI's are a byproduct of being a good hitter, since good hitters tend to hit in run-producing lineup slots. Trout barely cracked the top 50 in RBI's last year but was far and away the best individual player in baseball. They aren't a false stat, they just aren't a particularly valuable stat.

Trout can play SS.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to dimitrig in When did the All-Star Game become boring?
At the risk of a Craig (I did look first), I have to say that I detest the All-Star Game. It's not just that it was a 3-0 snoozefest, but that it got in the way of actual baseball. I used to like the All-Star Game, but I think what killed it for me was the advent of interleague play - or maybe the ridiculous 7-7 tie in 2002. It's no longer that novel for some of these guys to face each other. Add to that it's a meaningless exhibition and every team needs to be represented and... it lost a lot of its luster. Honestly, I would have rather seen a regular season Angels game tonight even though the team is under .500.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to mtangelsfan in So umm.. thoughts on Jerry Dipoto
For Sosh, it's his fault.
For Dipoto, it's just bad luck.
and a huge lol at defending the Blanton signing.
