Calhoun has way more upside.  More speed.  More power.  Better defense.  He's done everything you could ask in the minors.  What harm could it do. 

We need to win at a 99 win pace to get to 90 wins this season.
If anybody thinks a team that got swept by one of the worst teams in modern MLB history is capable of 99 wins well... Then... Good luck!

If the Angels can get some team's cost effective 2-ish starter, I'd definitely give up Bourjos...can't think of a MLB that would actually do that but I guess it's possible.

Yeah, Arte is a "snake-oil salesman" who has only pursued the top free agents the past couple of years after hearing for years he's not willing to do what it takes to do just that - attract the best talent.  What is he thinking keeping his payroll equivalent to the market his team plays in and trying to maximize his investments marketing potential. 
 
I didn't like the Pujols or Hamilton signings but, come on, how is this his fault?  If both of these two suck-holes would even approach what they've been capable of in previous seasons, the season is a little brighter.  I don't think they'd be at .500 because the real issue is the SP+BP but the games would be a hell of a lot more exciting.

Hmmm...what else can pick on Trout about today?  I know, he also isn't smiling as much.  Though I have no evidence to support it, I am going to claim he has a drinking problem which why he is putting on weight (I mean, come on, what a fatty) and, because alcohol is a depressant, this is why he's not smiling a much.  See, answered both of those.
 
Also, he, uh, his uniform isn't as dirty as it was this time last year..this must be a slient protest to not getting more money in the offseason.
 
It's all coming together.

Trout anywhere in the line-up is going to be solid.  The question becomes are they utilizing his talents.  Trout getting on ahead of Pujols is more then likely going to limit his SB attempts.  If you are alright with Trout stealing around 20 bags or less this year, then the two hole is fine.

Why would you trade someone cheap and talented that can help the team win?  For every $25 mil per year salary, you need the Trumbos, Trouts, and Bourjos' to complete the line-up.  For God sakes, they actually have Schuck taking a roster space, a guy who couldn't stick with Astros, and starting him.  They have stiffs like Cousins and Romine getting reps.  We need depth...talented, cheap depth who has actually succeeded at the MLB level.  At this point, Conger is now best known for a 3 error game that cost them a victory and is so damn pull happy teams have an Ortiz-shift on for him when he comes up.

Those on the "Arte-is-the-problem" binge, do you actually have anything to support the belief that he's one of the more trifling owners in baseball?  Or is this just another typical aw.com "psychic poster" ass-pull that's is built on a foundation of biased assumptions and leaped conclusions?

Nah, it's called having the perspective of a baseball fan who has seen some crazy sh!t happen to random teams over the years.  There are lot of fun things left to happen, lots of crazy come-backs, dramatic home-runs, diving catches, etc that I want to watch this team accomplish.  I don't see how you can have fun watching any baseball team if your only criteria for enjoyment is "win or else" because 29 teams are going to be assed-out of a championship again this season so the odds are against you going in.  Right now, there are 130 games left and I really can't imagine going through the 5 stages of grief everytime I turn on a game...it can't be healthy. 

AJ, what some are trying to say here is your optimism and perspective are messing with their negativeity/hate-fueled buzz and it is not welcome.  The only possible outcome is continual descent into oblivion.  Please note this for future posts.
