He took away a special privilege that should have never been there. Sorry your drag queen mouse lost.
Last that I checked, I don't own Disney.
DeSantis retaliated against his state's largest employer for pushing back against his intolerance. The state made the judgement years ago to grant the special district to Disney to persuade them not to build elsewhere. The state has benefited many times over in terms of revenue, investment and population growth. I am old enough to remember Orlando before Disney, when it was essentially a place to stop for gas between Tampa and Miami.

Well by all means, prove me wrong. Disney is about to experience the biggest front office shakeup since Walt died and it is all due to their idiocy by willing to put wokeness over profit. They’ve shit the bed constantly with their movie releases and Disney+ subscriptions are in the toilet. Their shareholders are about to throw Iger and Kennedy off a Burbank high rise.
DeSantis uses government to retaliate against anyone with a contrary opinion. That much isn't even debatable.

That community will be fine. Also it looks like Disney has a chance to turn away from the faggot shell of its former self.
I can't possibly top such an informed and intellectual response as that.

Interesting. I'm curious as someone from Vegas would you be against the As building a new stadium?
I don't know how you might draw that conclusion from what I said.
The Tropicana closes for good at noon on April 2.

Disney had a special deal allowing them to run a government entity. Desantis ended that. Not sure how you can justify that as government overreach.
The state extended that to Disney in order to get them to build there. DeSantis ended it because they dared to have an opinion contrary to his. It was grandstanding over a personal feud that has now dumped costs that Disney had been covering onto a community that is not fiscally prepared to cover them. But hey, at least Ron got to own the libs and woke Disney.

Wait ... DeSantis Approves Social Media Ban For Kids Under 14?
Why does he want to restrict parent's rights? Why does the GOP think Big Government is the answer to our problems?
They love criticizing others for what they are doing. DeSantis cares only about making his opinion the law of the land. It rings a little hollow when a graduate of Harvard and Yale moans about the "liberal elites".

Regarding Vegas, if it's a home market for 6 teams, doesn't that mean you can watch all those teams on the local cable/satellite service?
Obviously you can't watch them on MLB.tv.
That would require me to either retain DirecTV or switch to Cox Cable, neither of which is happening. It also requires an extra cost sports package above and beyond the base subscription.

So if Ippei isn’t arrested in the coming days should we assume that it is Ohtani that is doing the betting and that will take longer to prove?
I also notice that Ohtani's legal team says that this matter was turned over "to the authorities", but no law enforcement agency that would possibly have jurisdiction in the matter has received any complaint. My guess is that nobody is investigating this at all, because Ohtani's hands would be found to be all over it if it were thoroughly investigated.

"Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it."
Ippei really is an easy target. Marginalized, without the financial resources to defend himself fully. Admittedly breaking some laws. And easily demonized particularly by those invested in the Dodgers and MLB.
Which in itself doesn't absolve him pending more factual information. But this simple polarization of a 100% good guy victimized by a 100% bad guy seems overly simplistic and intentionally meant to stop further speculation.
I'm not buying for an instant that Ippei took $4.5M out of Shohei's bank account without him knowing. In order for that to happen:
1. Ohtani would have had to set up his account so that Ippei was an authorized user, which makes no sense.
2. Alternately, Ippei would have had to somehow get the password for Ohtani's online account. Even presuming that this happened, most banks will alert the account holder through text and/or email of any large transactions involving his or her account. I also can't buy that Ippei took out $500K nine or ten times without Ohtani's knowledge. Possibly after the first transfer and definitely after the second one, the bank would have directly called Ohtani and said hey, we have noticed very large transactions on your account. Were they yours?
Knowing how banks work, those funds would not have been released without direct approval from Ohtani.

No, it's died off a little. I forget what grievance the rightoids are focused on now.
It went into hiding a bit when Ron DeSantis and his nonsensical culture war exited the presidential race.
I have to chuckle when I see someone throw out the label Marxist. Odds are that the person using it equates socialism with communism, and makes no distinction between the two.
Ironic that it is Republicans who throw it around, while their would-be king can't keep his hand out of Vladimir Putin's pants.

I think they will need to negotiate between the teams. The Nats had to give a percentage of television revenue to the Orioles when they moved. That said there may be some difference between tv market and actual market.
I just want to know how every team within 500 miles got to claim Las Vegas as a home market.

Hopefully not for long. Or do they keep the area?
I haven't heard. I just dropped DirecTV, so with it goes the Angels broadcasts, as well as the Dodgers, Giants, A's, Padres and D-Backs.

He was a co-conspirator by knowing the fix was placed and didn't report it.
Which was a totally different situation than Rose, who was banned because of bets that he himself placed. My point is that if you let Rose in, Jackson should go in also. If they want to put that on their plaques, fine.

If he was smart, maybe he’d realize he should stop suggesting which players to sign and leave it up to his baseball people.
Ted Turner used to pay big money to players who he personally liked, with the belief that it would cause them to produce more. The Braves were generally terrible, wasting the most productive years of Dale Murphy (who I firmly believe would be in the HOF if he wasn't continually being pitched around because of a lack of talent around him). He turned things over to his baseball people and quit meddling. Within four years they won the first of 14 consecutive division titles.

I don't know about just a one season suspension, since Pete Rose was banned for life. Now MLB is going to have to make a decision and they should do what they should have done a long time ago and reinstate Pete Rose, he has served his damn time. They need to make a serious rule like a 3-5 year ban, but this lifetime bullsh*t is a bridge too far in my opinion. There has to be some middle ground or just stick with the lifetime ban. Just be consistent, because now their backs are to the wall with Shohei potentially violating the same rule.
Just like Shoeless Joe Jackson should be in the Hall. His production in the 1919 World Series was not that of a guy who was deliberately tanking.

Dude, you're combining two soap operas. As The World Turns goes back to the 1960s. My grandmother used to watch it.
The line you are looking for is "Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives."
Yes, I was subjected to too much daytime television back in the day.

$100 says it's Ohtani and they're throwing Ippei under the bus as a scapegoat.
How would an interpreter get his hands directly on the cash from Ohtani's paycheck to divert it in the first place? I assume that he gets a paycheck just like everyone else who provides a service. I can't imagine how this is even possible. Something just seems really off here.
OC Register: Reid Detmers leads Angels pitching staff to series-salvaging victory over Orioles

I beg to differ. In the first two games of the season, the Angels also showed what their pitchers can do. Be shelled early and often.
