Waybackman got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Gameday Thread: (8/27/23 9am on Peacock) Canning on the mound, Schanuel out again
When Ohtani doesn’t get a hit they don’t have a chance.

Waybackman got a reaction from jsnpritchett in RBI's with 2 outs
The main reason seems to be our opponents have more runs at the end of nine innings than we do.

Leone reacts like he just won the World Series. Good to see someone on this team showing some emotion.

The team is showing heart but these injuries can really demoralize you.

I’m beginning to think this isn’t a very good team.

Angels are the “Too Little Too Late” team.

Waybackman got a reaction from Redondo in Happy Father’s Day
My father took me to my first Angels game in 1954 at Wrigley Field in South LA. He made the transition from the PCL Angels to the American League Angels because he didn’t like O’Malley and the way he barged his way into Chavez Ravine. He (my father) didn’t live to see the 2002 World Series, but I know he was watching it. RIP Pops. I hope 2023 turns out to your liking.

And to be fair in reference to Beltre, I didn't expect him to come here and do what he did in Boston or Texas. I thought he'd essentially be the Seattle version. Which still would have have been great.

Had a paper route delivering the Herald Examiner in Echo Park in the late 50s. The bags full of papers on my handlebars were heavier than me. Definitely a balancing act.

Good win against a 4-19 team who's about to move. Lord the city of Oakland is a disaster. To follow up on my last post, I hope the Angels can get consistent pitching and hitting. Fielding goes without saying. With hitting, a little less of the homers, especially with no men on, and much more of stringing singles together. Unfortunately with Trout, Ohtani and Rendon, the Angels seem to try to create a home run mentality. With the different HR cellys, the cowboy hat last year and the Japanese warrior hat this year, the Angels glorify the home run. But homers are hard to come by and singles are much easier and hit more often. Be a team, and string ten million singles together, not these puffed-up, glorified home run hitters who more often strike out or end innings.
