You have to go all the way back to 2015-24 to get him to #1, and Betts is only 0.1 behind him, so will pass him in the next week. In other words, even taking the last full decade into account--half of which was vintage Trout--and he's no longer the best player of the last decade. That would be Mookie.
Meaning, Trout hasn't even been top 20 in any span over the last five seasons - except for 2022 alone, when he was #15. In terms of overall accumulative value, he's roughly the 30th best position player in baseball over the last half decade. 
 

Can't even enjoy a win for 24 full hours before bad news happens. Man the baseball gods just hate this team.

Shit The Dodgers I have always hated but now Ohtani I hate even more. I never want to see Ohtani succeed again that pos is dead to me. He had his eye on the Dodgers for the past 6 years and when he had the chance he bounced.  He shit on us Angel fans who supported him for the past 6 years. To see him give that kind of contract to the Dodgers makes me absolutely sick to my stomach.. Seeing him only DH and the Dodgers not winning shit for the next 10 years would be the cherry on top

But holy hell if you scroll through timelines on any social media app, especially X, or you're a daily viewer of the MLB Network... it's non-stop Dodgers this, Shohei Ohtani that. Just wait for the season to start, it's going to get worse.
I was going to post some examples here for those who aren't on social media and the fawning that's 24/7 on the MLB Network over Ohtani and the Dodgers, but I'll spare you. 
MLB always wanted Ohtani to be on the Dodgers or the Yankees. They got their wish and now fans of all 29 other teams have to suffer if they choose to continue to get their news & have dialogue with other fans on these outlets.

great and much needed podcast. share same feelings as Chuck on the utter disgust of him signing with Doyers, for a ridiculous price tag when he said money not important. Angels bent over backwards to cater to his every whim and in return he just bent the Angels over.  My days of rooting for him are over. Also agree with Geoff, been rooting for the local redheaded stepchild teams, Angels and Ucla, for decades and the media still barely acknowledge those teams. Time for change, starting with Angels ownership.
