As far as the gun issue, there is no answer. We can say "ban all guns", but thats science fiction.
Im pereonally all for stronger gun laws, and limits on what you can own. (And that would include me habing to give up my rifle for something 'legal'). I think it would help, alot. But it wouldt stop it. It might (might) stop the sensational ones, like this one, vegas, pulse, etc. But not joe schmo who walks into his workplace and smokes his boss and coworkers. (Those happen daily, just arent newsworthy). 
Also, as far as mental health, unless were all good with the old eastern europe way of doing away with less desirables, thats not gonna happen. Even if we tried, how do we make it legal? What level of "weird" do we say you arent allowed to do what others do?
Lastly, theres no real way to see the future and know which idiot is going to snap. (Maybe me. Maybe you. Probably not tank.)(probably). By that, IMO, the vegas thing, pulse, etc is made up mainly of people who were weirdos, youd want nothing to do with them...but were coherant, not a lot of background, etc. Just one day decided they wanted more attention than they were getting.
 

I did watch it yesterday!  Made me sad I hadn't watched the whole event...  These ladies are very good, and they were having a blast playing the game and to the crowds!  That Lexi halve was critical!  Great job, USA Ladies!

I've been impressed with this Team's fight this season!  Battling through lots of key injuries, they've fought-back into relevance!  It cracks me up to hear all the sports-channel talking-heads jumping on the bandwagon!...  Hoping to see the Boys get into the Postseason but, win or lose, it's been just another great Halos season to watch with Trouty providing super-human antics and King Albert's run up the homer chart!
I've got at least two more games scheduled this season- Boys night this Friday, and of course LB State night next month!  Ahhhh letsa goa Angels!

I wish the author was less partisan and admitted that people on the left are just as prone to this phenomenon as people on the right. I suppose she kind of does, when she says that people who (for example) support or don't support the Affordable Care Act renege on the intensity of their opinions after they realize how little they actually understand about it. Either way, the science resonates with our current political climate.

I had never heard of them before, and had to do some research....  Seems like they are pretty low-level, and not very well respected even by other gangsters (go to street gangs.com to read some funny commentary from supposed actual gangsters).
 
Whittier Chief Piper is correct about these new laws, and specifically this Mejia candidate for the DP.  Mejia is a career-criminal, with violent Felony convictions on his lengthy rap sheet.  This book can certainly be judged by its cover.  At the minimum, California has voted to save tax money at the expense of having their neighbors' home burglarized.

Both Espi's and Shoe's beards are macho!  To the point of looking fake...  I can't go past two weeks without shaving my face-bush off; too annoyingly scratchy.  Beard or no beard, Espi will be a great addition this season!  Go Beach!

Dodger Stadium is ranked higher? On what planet? Traffic getting in sucks, traffic getting out sucks, someone was almost murdered in the parking lot for being an opposing team's fan, the stairs suck and are everywhere, handicap access sucks, concessions are terrible, lines are long, one overcrowded team store, but at least they have urinals now instead of troughs? C'mon man...

MT we disagree, law is what is in question here and how it facilitated this event. This is not a singular incident,  nor preventable in the parole system. So maybe a serious review of what our societal obligations are to hold the line on criminal punishment rather than expeditious budget management. 
A cop died because a high speed rail to nowhere was prioritized over public safety. 

It was a poorly written bill that has a direct correlation to the officers death. Why sweep it under the rug?
