Glad ai scrolled down to sew if anyone beat me to the joke before I made it myself.

    Scioscia was white regains.
It should also be mentioned here that in pitching coaches we've had both Black, and White.

I really do hope it's true.  And part of the reason I think it is has to do with the the timeliness of Maddon's exit.  If it was purely Minasian giving Maddon a pretty crap roster in significant areas then he'd have had an argument that no amount of following the analytics would have staved off what will likely be a 90 loss season.

or Joe had significant influence on the construction of the current roster.  Personally feel like this is a distinct possibility.  Like spending a bunch on the bullpen.  Which Minasian undid a portion of  once maddon was ousted.

Here are the steps for a rehabbing pitcher...
Bullpen session: The pitcher gets on the mound in the bullpen and throws all his pitches, usually at significantly less than full velocity. The point is really to get the feel for your mechanics and the way the ball is spinning.
Live BP: This is really just one notch up from a bullpen session. The pitcher just throws harder because there's a hitter in there, and he gets used to seeing a hitter in there. The pitcher also tells the hitter what's coming, so he's not really trying to get him out or pitch him strategically. This happens mostly in the first days of spring training and then never again. A rehabbing pitcher will probably just skip this and go straight to...
Simulated game: A pitcher faces hitters and he's going to pitch them in a way more similar to how he would in a game. The hitter doesn't know what's coming. They will keep track of the count, so a pitcher will throw different pitches when it's 2-0 or 0-2. If he gives up a hit, he might switch to pitching out of the stretch. Usually, a pitcher will face two or three hitters and just keep cycling through them, with each guy completing his AB. Normally the pitcher will just throw 15 to 20 pitches and then go sit down, wait a little bit and then do it again. That simulates multiple innings. This is also good for hitters who are rehabbing or maybe have been not playing very much lately.
Rehab assignment: This adds even more intensity because it's an actual game against another team in the minor leagues. You can't end the inning early, so you need to get three outs. The hitters are definitely not concerned with what you're doing, because each of them is trying to perform as well as he can to get to the majors. Starting pitchers will have to do this because they aren't going to do a simulated game of more than 3 innings/45 pitches. (That's not a very efficient use of a big league field and the other big league hitters. In order to make it realistic, a 4-5-6 inning outing would take 60-90 minutes, so that's just not going to happen during a normal workout period before a game.) All that being said, there's still not quite the same intensity as you'd have in a major league game, because it's a minor league game. And the results all sort of need an asterisk because of the reasons I stated before (the defense, positioning, lack of scouting reports, umpires, etc.).

I've seen Aguilar make a couple of good catches and botch one other.  In his limited appearances thus far, both Fangraphs and B-Ref have him below replacement value and negative in defensive value.  You are clearly seeing something very different from what I've seen and from what the stats show.

After watching Aguilar for a few games, Adell's window with the Angels might be closing.

I think Nevin prefers to play Adell at times when he can have some success. Today is probably not that day because of who is pitching.
