    I would really look at signing Jose Abreu if he isn't going to cost a ton. 
    Even in a down year he's slashing .313/.389/.468 with 14 HR.

    If I recall, the Angels initially went to Albert with that suggestion and he refused leading to his DFA.  The Angels tried but Albert being such a team player and role model said no.  Fuck Pujols and his self-centered narcissism.

    And we obviously have no idea how true that is. But it doesn't seem far fetched at all.
    I think essentially being released forced him to remake himself and save face. 
    I could be totally wrong, but I doubt they (the Angels) wanted to simply release him while still paying him. 
    I think Pujols the past 4 years or so was totally consumed with 700. His bat collapsed because of it.
    The suggestion to split time and platoon was probably a no go for him. And he likely thought they wouldn't call his bluff.
    But who knows.

    I agree Ohtani has experienced bad calls. In all honesty, he is the only reason to continue watching the Angels.   He is amazing.
