Iglesias will do better and do well for ATL this year and next.  However, an aging closer making 16 mill would have been a disaster his last two years of contract.

Davidson looks intriguing as a backend SP.  He has some solid AAA numbers.  It does seem like we are starting to collect a number of SP options in the upper minors (Davidson, Silseth, Junk, Bush, Bachman, etc etc).  Hopefully, we'll see a few emerge and become legit SPs that we can count on for years.

No more excuses for Perry now moving forward. This is his roster, and the next manager will be HIS guy. I do like how quickly he makes decisions(DFA Pujols and Upton, Maddon firing), but clearly the results are not there so far. If his next manager doesn't steer this team back to the playoffs, this org will be looking for its 4th GM and 5th manager within the next couple seasons

I think that at least some of the players had Maddon tuned out.

There was some talk about Maddon “losing some of the clubhouse.”
Nevin was reportedly quite the opposite of Maddon (from articles when they hired him) so maybe the clubhouse ended up a a little split and basically chose Nevin?
It also would not be far-fetched to think that when they brought in Nevin as a coach, they had an eye on him being the next manager with Maddon’s contract expiring.

So instead of appropriately addressing the MIF, they sign a reliever for 7m per and he comes in and shits the bed.  Meanwhile, they go cheap on depth and add a guy who's ok as a depth piece but now he becomes a starter.  He has a career slg% of .380 and reverse splits vs. lefts so Maddon bats him 4th and then PR's for him with two out with a waiver pickup only to have that guy come up as the tying run in the 9th, now batting in the middle of the order and GIDP.  
When is this franchise going to stop stepping on it's own dick.  

Maddon really had Adell playing RF all spring just to then put him in LF on opening day. Truly a sick individual

He's said to have a funky delivery. Schedule his TJS early rather than later.
 

Maybe it's because my expectations for this franchise have been battered over the last 5 years, but I'm actually pretty good with them being .500 after 18 games.

Baseball Reference says his defense has been horrible this year. He also does not seem to be walking much or stealing bases. Is he going to only be 5-7 WAR player now? Still great, but might be time to plus Goodwin in center and move Trout to left.

That last pitch by Middleton was 100 mph. Thing is, dude can't command his pitches half of the time so I don't think he'll be the closer anytime soon like @Jeff Fletcher suggested a few days ago.

Gives us 3 shitty innings after being out for 2 years and is already injured?
