On a serious note, I wouldn't at all be surprised if Bauer was starting bids at 5-6 years, $35M+ AAV. I doubt he'll get that, but it fits the perception that he's one of the best starters in the game.
The problem is that he doesn't have the track record. 1.4 years of CY Young performance spread over three seasons in an overall #2-3 career doesn't equal $35-40M AAV.
That said, I do think he'll get $30M AAV, and probably six years. Or maybe one of these two:
6/$180M
5/$160M
4/$140M

The bigger question is... are you one of the early test tube babies that they didn’t get quite right?

It’s just funny that more and more the posts devolve into unreadable nonsense.  It’s like this has turned into HalosNation on FB.

Being bothered about this is simply dumb.  It is a minor league depth move, you know like all teams do.  It is an insurance policy in case they can’t sign a veteran catcher.  

I remember telling everyone that would listen that the Angels signing Pujols was a pipe dream, never going to happen. I laughed at the people that thought the Angels would allow Torii Hunter to walk. No way. I scoffed at the thought that they'd double down and sign Josh Hamilton to a big contract. I also said the Angels wouldn't be in on Simmons because they already had Erick Aybar. I didn't take anyone seriously when they suggested the Angels sign Anthony Rendon last winter when pitching was so clearly a need, as it always is. 
JT Realmuto would not address the Angels needs, and is absolutely the type of acquisition they've made time and again.
So, I guess that means we are getting JT Realmuto.

Although, i'm open to signing Bauer which would eliminate some of your other proposed signings.  My issue with Bauer is the years and salary.  History is pretty clearly against the idea of long-term FA signings for SPs in MLB.  Add to that the fact that Bauer does not have a long resume for performing at Ace #1 level.  But his unique personality and situation may enable us to get him for less (years) than the usual FA.  This might be the one time to do so.  Glad it's Perry's job.

Just sign two #3’s (Odorizzi and Tanaka), along with Pillar, Bradley, and Suzuki.
No prospects lost, only one season going over the tax threshold, and a solid rotation emerges in Bundy, Odorizzi, Tanaka, Heaney, and Canning.   Barria and Ohtani give them additional depth.

Am I the only one here that doesn’t know what a beta simp is or what a soy boy is?  I assumed when Joc posted these terms it’s because he’s some 20 year old kid using stupid 20 year old words.  Then I read that Joc is older than me and is using stupid words.  Using context, if you choose to point out something positive about agent chick you are not masculine or something like that?  

I find it all interesting. It’s working for them. Bauer is being talked about on every social media platform and every message board. Baseball is entertainment and they’re maximizing their opportunity to increase his brand. Good for them.
if he signs with the Angels, great. If not, life will go on. At least he’s giving this dull hot stove something for fans to talk about.

Yup. It's like people who wear masks in zoom videos. Why? It's pointless. Actually It's more likely to cause you to rebreathe germs in the mask. I get it (even if I'm skeptical masks actually help, I do wear one when I'm out and about) when you're among people. Just wearing it to virtue signal is idiotic, though.
