Perry 2:19 Why did I trade for Alex Cobb?   Steve Adams 2:19 I legitimately have no idea what compelled the Angels to make that move. I get it if you want an able-bodied veteran to soak up some innings, but man ... could've kept Jones and just signed Fiers or Shoemaker or Porcello or someone for a few million.   2:20 Not that Jahmai Jones is any sort of elite prospect, but if you even think he can be a passable bench piece, why make this move? There's just nothing outside Cobb's ground-ball rate that looks too appealing.    

All the harassment allegations and WWE fight promotions are simply a coverup for what is plainly an absolutely horrible trade.  It's a Government plan to get you to look away from the evil of yet another crappy one year (& OLD) SP for the LA Angels being acquired.  Now back to your AW Housewife shenanigans.

no I don't.  his path to mlb is irrelevant.  he's worth what he's worth and we may disagree on that value.  But he has some.  My biggest concern is that Cobb isn't very good and to take on money for 1yr of a poor player and give up an ok prospect to do it is my problem.  
The whole point of having a good or even decent farm is that guys get blocked and create redundancy which you use to make the major league team better.  Personally, I never considered Jones all that great.  In fact, I think I had him the lowest of anyone on our top prospect list.  
Prospect capital is prospect capital.  Don't waste it.  Minasian just did.

This is a poor use of resources in my opinion.  
Cobb isn't very good.  
Jones isn't a great prospect, but he's a decent one.  Just because he's down on the depth chart, you don't just give him away.  
It's gonna cost somewhere around 5m.  There are a crap ton of other players I'd rather have for that.  
And to top it off, you are getting another guy with one year of control.  Which in this case is fine by me because the chances we'll want Cobb around next year are slim to none anyway.  

Watching other teams trade crap prospects for Arenado and frontline SP makes this frustrating 

If the Angels are done with regards to their starting pitching I will be disappointed. I'd still like for the club to acquire a Marquez type or just back up the MF truck up of cash for Bauer. Trade Heaney for prospects or a reliever. Sign a RF. 

To me, dealing Jones here levels out the fairly light return we had to give up for Raisel Iglesias. Swapping out Jones for Rivas there and putting Rivas in for Cobb feels more equitable.

So Matt Moore can be had for 3 million and no prospect, but Alex Cobb costs 7.5 million and a top 10 prospect in the system.

Chuck...you had hair when Cobb last had under a 3 era. Cmon man.  He's not good, there's no defending giving up our #7 prospect to pay a #6 starter 7.5 million.
