Arte and delusional fans were the only ones who thought this could be a playoff team and that they should buy.   They doubled down on 15 with the dealer showing a King. 

So Perry got pieces we needed - for this year.   A year that we were not gonna make the playoffs regardless.  What did he get for 2024+.  Maybe a comp 2nd round pick.  That’s the prize awaiting the Angels lol smh. Brilliance by the organization lol.

Anyhow, Perry is still the one making the deals. Arte isn't -- as far as we know - telling him who to trade. 
And before you say "but hindsight is 20-20," the whole gig is about how things look in hindsight. Good moves look good in hindsight, bad moves don't. Perry's overall "body of work" this past month and half looks terrible. 

3-10 since trade deadline. 
So much for Perry's Gambit. Trades away the future and blows the present in the process.

Bad team man….bad f-ing team 

You don't replace it. You do what you should've done in 2016, which is begin to tear down and rebuild.
You restructure the entire financial outlook of the organization by reallocating free agent funds into a strong minor league program complete with....
top scouts, coordinators, ballparks, amenities, technology, pitching labs, medical staff, Latin American influence and top draft picks. 
This ensures that the prospects you actually have on hand maximize their value and help the major league club as young controllable talent, and with the inevitable tanking of the major league club that takes place, higher draft picks results in better prospects and eventually better players and a better team. 

A mediocre team with 2 of the greatest players so far this century.  Just think what would have been possible had there been a halfway decent supporting cast.

This makes the Angels disappointing record since the trade deadline sting even worse. 

Angels baseball: Amazingly consistent 8 years and running. 

I too am hoping for 82 wins, but this looks more like a 76 win club considering strength of schedule going forward.

It ignores the impact players have on other players.  Rendon has a zero WAR but for whatever reason in games he plays the offense is better.  It could be sample size, or it could be a different approach.  Fletcher shared that the team performed much better with RISP with Rendon in the line up.  We have all bitched about that part of the team the last several weeks, but with Rendon, it would have been better.  
Also it isn’t just about Trout and Rendon, it is O’Hoppe, Neto, Stassi, Quijada, Walsh, Joyce, Bachman, Urshela.  It isn’t difficult to see this being 5-10 wins better.  Quijada, whom I don’t like, could have easily been the difference in Colorado or KC.  Neto instead of Velazquez, O’Hoppe instead of Wallach when Wallach went an entire month without a hit.  Rendon or Urshela means we aren’t trading for Escobar, who has done nothing.  

The fact is even if we were injury free we’d still be well out of the wildcard race. 
Let’s quantify, based on WAR, how many games injuries have potentially cost us:
Trout - 3 WAR in 1/2 the season, out 6-8 weeks, so 1.5-2 WAR lost.
Rendon - ZERO war accumulated before injury.  No loss.  Ouch.
Ward - 1.7 WAR, but hasn’t been out long enough to be any impact
Every other player on the injured list is a sub 1WAR easily replaced player.
Total that up and you have to be very creative to get to even 5 WAR.  Plus some guys we brought in like Moustakas actually are better than the chumps they replaced.
We’re just not that good.  With Trout and Rendon so far below expectations we’re just not a playoff caliber team.  They need to earn their $$!

I don't know if the stats back it up but it felt like he consistently delivered in the clutch.
