Come on Chuck, what kind of prospect would you be ok with the Angels giving up for Walker if we were in the position to be adding?  It certainly wouldn’t be a good prospect.  It would be something along the lines of one of the guys we gave up for Bundy.  We gave up 4 guys, 1 we had heard of for 2 years of Bundy.

how about instead of trading Bundy, we extend him?
trade Goodwin and a prospect (or two) for Plesac.   Goodwin would be their best OFer by far.
    draft Rocker
sign Bauer or some other free agent.
Bauer, Bundy, Plesac, Heaney, Rocker, Detmers, Canning, Ohtani, Sandoval, Barria, Suarez, Chris Rodriguez.
just overkill it at this point.

Well to be fair Eppler said he wasn't done adding to the rotation. He didn't say how.

This is a good point.  Unfortunately, this is going to be the case for many young guys as well...losing some development time.  Then again, i guess from the Angels standpoint and the curse of TJ injuries, maybe it's best to have them pitching less -- get some guys with less wear/tear on their arms/shoulders.  Grasping at straws these days at glass-half-full viewpoints as an Angel fan.
If indeed we do get a top 5-6 pick, we really need there to be some decent amount of spring College / HS baseball played so scouts can properly evaluate.  If we end up in the 10-15 range, it could be a potential benefit to those teams (& back end of 1st round) with good scouting since guys might be available who otherwise would not have if being able to showcase themselves over a full season.
They better not F with the draft order.  Only thing i'd be cool with would be a lottery for the top pick for the non-playoff teams.  I could get behind this for one season due to the hugely unbalanced 2020 schedule.
Pirates have won 3 in a row -- keep it up!

Seattle won today, so the Halos are officially dead last in the American League.   The only MLB Team doing worse is the Pirates, and they're only one game further under .500 than the Angels.

You don’t find it ironic that you quit on this game after half an inning but call out the team for a lack of heart?

I always wonder why anyone at this point wants to see Eppler active in free agency. To almost any degree, he’s been pretty awful there.
He at least trades well. We haven’t really gotten burned by a trade. I don’t think he’s moved a single legitimate prospect since Newcomb virtually on Day One, and that worked our pretty well for us.
I think it’s time for Billy to do what he does well - trade. It’s time orchestrate a big trade or two, finally loosening the grip on some prospects that will make a difference on our return, and land good, controlled, young, cheap talent. It’s going to cost us a couple painful names, but we have a good core and significant pitching depth at this point to sustain it. Note I didn’t say good pitching depth - just depth. We can afford to part with one or even two of Marsh/Adell/Adams/Goodwin or one of Canning/Sandoval/Suarez/Barria, and guys like Rengifo, Thaiss, Jones, Jackson are relatively expendable and can contribute some value in a deal.
The lack of a minor league season is also hiding the fact that we *do* have a pretty significant wave of arms on the horizon. Yan, Detmers, Stallings, Seminaris, Soriano, Hernandez, Rodriguez, Criswell, Ortega, Brady, Wantz, Warren, Chatham, Pina, Molina, Duensing, Tyler, Peek, etc...lots of arms drafted the last few years and most of them would have in A+/AA right now, some pushing AAA and MLB depth. They may not be huge impact but a couple of these guys should become decent relievers or 4/5 types to replace someone like Barria or the current production of Suarez.

I don’t know, you might be giving them too much credit. The level of shit play is made even more impressive by the knowledge that this team is actually trying.

I'm down to see how Jose Suarez does his second time around.
Dear God we need some guys in our farm system to step up in a big way or we're toast. That's not just this season (probably already out of it) but years to come.
Also, I'm not talking about just starters, but depth. Our depth guys from our farm system have been utter dog shit this season.
    Walsh, Thiass, Ward, etc.etc.
Adell has looked lost as well, which really sours the optimism for the future as well since he's our #1 prospect. If Jo doesn't look out, Marsh may top him as our best prospect on the farm.

i'm not fully following every team in BB like i used to do.  So i'm aware of mostly just the Angels and the AL west.  But serious question, is there any team that has a worst SP staff than the Angels?  i don't mean stats wise necessarily.  I mean everything -- stats, potential, Aces, depth, ready to step in youngsters, etc.  I would hazard a guess that the Angels, if not the worst, have to be bottom 5.  At least crappy teams can dream upon their studly SP farm prospects. It's been forever it seems that we developed a consistent top 3 rotation SP.  Is there truly a guy in our farm system now that has shown, performance + health, will be one eventually?
Heck, for the next 5 years, we are hoping for a guy who can't stay healthy nor has shown for more than a handful of starts that he can be a true SP in MLB (Othani)......and a newly drafted guy who hasn't pitched as a pro yet (Detmer)....a single A guy who has had very bad back problems (Chris Rodriguez).....and a reclamation project (Bundy).  Maybe some other random low A guys.  That's sad.

I don’t think I would trade for a single player that is a rental.  No reason to give up any assets for this year.

There is no unwritten rule of not swinging at 3-0 pitch when you have a big lead.  This is something created by a pussy who got their feelings hurt when they failed to execute the pitch.  Just another example of the continued pussonification of a great sport.
