I don't believe anything that account says.
Anyone can create a twitter account claiming to be a former MLB executive. If you tweet speculation, people are going to follow, retweet, and like your tweets because fans feed off that stuff.

I’d say the goal should be to find a LHH who can complement Ward in RF until one of Adell or Marsh is ready.
Dahl can likely be had for cheap (was projected at 2.5mil arbitration per MLBTR).  At a cost like that, he’d be my top choice.

Yeah, I figure that Springer and Ozuna are out of the Angels price range, but I included them just to show all the OF options out there.
Also, Brantley, Rosario, and Schwarber would all be suspect in RF, but I included them for the same reason.

I think Springer can be ruled pretty quick based off QO, his cost, his interest in Northeast. There is a little bit of interest in my part in Ozuna, and I think given his impact with Minasian’s Braves last year, he can’t be completely ruled out - especially if Adell and Marsh are dealt for pitching - but very unlikely.
After that though, almost any of those sound realistic, except maybe Schwarber who only has 14 innings of experience in RF, and wouldn’t fit the defense criteria the Angels are valuing of late. I also really doubt Ward is seen as much of a solution either, even temporarily. His play was nice last year but nothing groundbreaking or even necessarily sustainable. If they have to spend elsewhere first, sure we could see him there or in a platoon, but I doubt they’re wanting to count on that yet.

Puig and Bauer have the same agent. Worth noting.
But their are some off the field question marks with Puig, as mmc said.

BTH got a reaction from Torridd in Joel Sherman: Angels new GM will need to find 6-8 new pitchers
No offense to Joel, but I think it's just his own ignorance. If you actually look at the Angels roster, you'd realize they don't need 6-8 pitchers, but I don't think he actually looked at it. He just knows the Angels need is pitching (as everyone knows) and exaggerated the number to make his point or didn't put the effort in to realize that wasn't the case.

I'm not sure that they will have that much left to spend, but playing along with the exercise:
Adell, Jones, Thaiss, and Suarez for Márquez. (7.8M)
    Sign Pederson- 2/$20M.
    Sign Rosenthal- 2/$13M.
    Sign Flowers- 1/$4M.
    Sign Chafin- 1/$1.7M.

Tip No. 1: Minasian should focus entirely on winning in 2021 and forget about the future. The 2022 season and beyond? Don't worry about it. For now, anyway. Go all-in on the upcoming season.
The Angels have not won a playoff game since 2009, and have appeared in the postseason only once since then. Trout has 12 playoff at-bats. This is what grates on Moreno's nerves more than anything else. If Minasian decides he wants to simultaneously focus on infrastructure and winning in '21, he'll probably keep some ammunition in reserve for the future -- and that would be a mistake, others say. His best chance to win favor with Moreno is by winning immediately, and if Minasian can do that, he'll buy himself some time to focus on other aspects of the organization. The advice is: If he has an extra dollar to spend, spend it on the 2021 roster.
The Angels could have a spectacular year in the draft -- they own the ninth pick overall -- and in player development, but if the big league team fails to make the playoffs, none of the minor league work will matter to Moreno.
Tip No. 2: Minasian should communicate with Moreno frequently and never let him be caught by surprise by any development. Others say Moreno wants the ultimate responsibility to be in the hands of the general manager, and he wants to believe that the GM and the manager are on the same page.
Minasian is known to be really good at working with people, at reading people and their moods. In baseball in this era, front-office folks are often defined as being part of one of two camps. You've got your Analysts, and you've got your People Persons -- and Minasian is seen as fitting into the latter group, having really started his baseball life working in the Rangers' clubhouse when Buck Showalter managed. "The Energizer Bunny," Showalter recalled, saying that the way Minasian absorbed and processed information "was like Peter Gammons on steroids."
Tip No. 3: Don't obsess over Moreno's participation (invasion?), because if he really gets to a point where he is micromanaging decisions about the Angels' roster under Minasian, that probably means the team is struggling and Minasian might have effectively lost power anyway.
The challenge for Minasian is real, because the wide perception among evaluators is that the Angels are pretty far removed from being a title contender. They were 25th in ERA in the 60-game season, at 5.09, ranked 27th in defensive runs saved, at minus-26, and were 29th in defensive efficiency. Iglesias was Minasian's first big move to help shore up those numbers. There will be others, and Moreno -- an owner who can be found hovering over instructional league action at 10 a.m. -- will be watching.

I'm curious as to further moves Minasian will make to expand his FO.  So far, we know he brought over Tamin to serve as assistant GM.  There's still another assistant GM spot available, as well as a whole host of other positions (scouting director, etc).  Those moves will be key decisions.  So even if the player personnel part is slow, I'm eager to see the moves he'll make to further expand the FO.

    Okay, I gotcha.
Still - I'd like to try to build a trade to acquire Ruiz, at least.  Or Langeliers of the Braves, although he's probably 2 years or so away from playing in the MLB, whereas Ruiz is ready now.
Not sure what we could offer the Dodgers.  Perhaps a 3-way deal would be needed.

I see no reason at all why the Dodgers would want to trade Gonsolin and Ruiz for Adell. They have Bellinger in CF, Betts in RF long-term, and they are paying Pollock $31M over the next two seasons. They also have Taylor, Raley, McKinstry, Peters, and Beaty as guys who could play LF.
The Dodgers are smart, and they know pitching depth is needed. They also know that catchers are a valued commodity because there are so few good two-way catchers. They don't have space for Adell, nor do they have the time to wait for him to develop. Kershaw always goes on the IL a couple times a season and Buehler always misses a few starts with blisters. They are going to keep their pitching depth.
While the value may match up, it makes no sense for the Dodgers to make that trade.

Or another way to put it, as of right now the projected lineup is something like this, via wRC+:
    2B Fletcher 120
    CF Trout 170
    3B Rendon 150
    LF Upton 120
    1B Walsh 130
    DH Ohtani 130
    C Stassi 110
    RF Ward 100
    SS Iglesias 90
(This isn't including possible upgrades at RF and C)
Not a bad lineup, but as you say it hinges on questionable guys like Upton, Ohtani, and Walsh.

Kevin Pillar makes all the sense in the world to me. From California, hits lefties well, fantastic defense, can play all three. Likely a 1/$4m type deal.

Hunter Renfroe is a fit as well. Should Schebler impress in ST, he could serve as a lefty-platoon mate.

I really think that the Angels need to add a right fielder either via trade or free agency.
While they have players that *could* play RF (Adell/Schebler/Ward), they can't really trust those players. There is a greater likelihood that those players end up being below average than above average.
Not to mention the fact that Upton is also a question mark. Upton could be the Upton we saw at the end of the season that was really good, or he could be the 2019/start of 2020 Upton that was really bad.

On the position player side, if the Angels are going to be good next season it will be because Upton and Ohtani produced. They need the players that can be middle of the order bats to be middle of the order bats.
They have two elite hitters in Trout and Rendon. They can afford to give up offense at a position or two in exchange for quality defense.
Iglesias fills a need and comes at a low cost, both in prospects and salary.

I don't think Segura is anywhere near worth his contract. He's getting paid 14.85 million per season for the next two seasons. Cesar Hernandez likely matches Segura's production for half that price.
Not to mention the fact that this will be Segura's 4th or 5th time being traded. I hate to speculate, but something has to be up with that. Maybe he's a bad clubhouse guy? I believe there were some rumors about him getting in some clubhouse fight when he was with Seattle.

I think the key part of that statement though is "Maddon's trust."  Maddon did appear to trust him, and Andriese did appear to make some progress with his pitches and was fairly effective down the stretch.  If Maddon trusts him, then it's possible Minasian will keep him on board.
Bedrosian was barely used when we were trying to go on a run to make the playoffs, which suggests to me that Maddon didn't trust him, and it is likely why he was let go.
