Definitely makes this season more crucial than ever. 
If Ohtani left, they'd have to try and make the rebuild as minimal as possible (again). Trout isn't getting any younger and turns 32 this season. Yikes.

Seriously though I think the 60% number is what the Angels spend currently, it's not fixed. In other words if revenue decreased the 60% number might increase to 65% or whatever. They set prices according to what they think the market will bear. If they could charge more they would.

I would have been happy with a new owner. Mainly because I don't think things could have gotten much worse.
Rise the prices, dude. It's Orange County.... People make good money here. I'd rather pay $40 per ticket than the $5 ticket that comes with a half full stadium and the Angels losing 8-3.

Sam isn't my guy. I haven't been a fan of him, but i'll call it where I see it and I respect him for being vocal about it. 

To be honest I like how Sam isn't afraid to call it as it is. It may not come off as PC or professional, but Sam does have a good point. He's saying out loud what we've all been trying to say for years.

Again, I don't see anything wrong with that.  Some fans want to hear from Arte.  You seem to have a very narrow and specific definition of and expectation for what a beat report should be and do.  Others want something different.  That doesn't mean that he or those people who want something different are attention-seeking children.
Clearly, we're not going to agree and that's fine.

"Attention seeking child" is far too dismissive.  And it's not just a "handful of 20-somethings" who value his opinion.  I left that demo quite a while ago.  Ha.

Yes, it would've been nice. But it's pretty obvious from Arte's comments in the article that he seems philosophically opposed to being the top spender because he feels it's unfair to the teams that don't or can't spend as much. He's fine being top ten, but both because he wants to make money (which he undersells, but it's obviously a huge factor) and, to some degree, because he doesn't believe in spending that much comparatively, he won't ever be at the forefront on spending. That's just reality. 
So, grabbing everything we did plus Turner and another good starter and reliever would've been great, but we can't all be the Mets, apparently. And, ultimately, spending the most doesn't guarantee anything. At the end of the day, it comes down to having a smart front office. A dumb GM with all the money in the world will make a lot of bad decisions in spending. A smart GM with very limited money can still go all the way.

Backup options from the 40man roster: Canning, Rodriguez, Soriano, Wantz, Weiss, Davidson, Garza, Ingram and Marte
But the other interesting options could be a mix of Bachman, Joyce, Murphy and Torres.
It might not be best bullpen in baseball (yet), but there's some interesting fire power hiding in the minors.

I can see this as well. 
It will be interesting to see where we are at come September, but our bullpen could be loaded with guys that dish out 95mph+..... and then get wiped away by Herget.
