  1. I've gotten to the point where I have to see it. I was thrilled Maddon was coming to coach and then nothing went well. Epstein wouldn't be able to "do his own thing" with Arte being so heavily involved. I'd like Epstein to be part of an ownership group if Arte sold. Then again, I still need to see action.
  2. They need a miracle. The rotation will consist of a lot of solid #3 and #4 guys so they need help there. They also have a AAA lineup still with either injuries or no consistency. Signing Ohtani would be fun, but it gets you exactly what you had this year. One star player with a revolving door at every other position.
  3. I'm happy with these moves. I do like Minasian as the GM and he deserves the chance to build something through and through. Never was a fan of Nevin. I enjoyed his passion, but that was about it. I love the idea of Erstad, but I think they're going to go after a seasoned coach like Melvin and Buck (yikes). Salmon and maybe a few others might get some roles on the staff.
  4. I'd honestly be happy if the FO took the Victor Rojas approach.... Let Arte, Perry and Nevin stay but do one thing. Put a picture of Trout, Neto and O'Hoppe on the wall and tell everyone "If you don't want to win like these guy then get the hell out". Release Rendon and put others on the hot seat. I'd be happy if that's all they did.
  5. Interesting. I'm kind of hoping that they don't fire Perry. I like the way he's drafted and gone about trying to help this team. Having a revolving door of new Managers and GMs, to me, won't help solve anything. If the upper FO is looking for the perfect person then they need to take a step back. I also believe it's too late for Arte to make notice of a sell. Although i've seen stranger things.....
  6. First off, there's no way this can be credible. Especially from Bob. Secondly, I feel two ways if he were to request a trade. 1: I can't blame him for wanting to win. Money aside, if he requests a trade, then the dude deserves to play October baseball and get a ring. If the Angels can't help with that, then he deserves the shot to go elsewhere. 2: As much as I love him, him injuries over the past few years hasn't helped his team at all. Yeah, they've played pretty crappy baseball, but when the captain is missing multiple months every season there's nothing you can do. You expect your best players to contribute to the team which wasn't happening at all. So, I understand wanting to play for a winning team, but he hasn't really helped that case over the last few years.
  7. "Become a competitive team" sounds like the last 5 years. Maybe they should sign him to help the impending tank and rebuild haha
  8. To me it'd have to be having the two best players on your team not win one playoff game and then deciding they want out. Also, add in Arte not selling after that. That's rock bottom and completely embarrassing as an organization. The Angels will become irrelevant for a few years if that happens.
  9. I love Trout to death. He's been my favorite player since day one and the reason I watch their games still... but..... This is getting ridiculous. He knows damn well the team can't succeed with him being on the IL for half a season. It's a mild form of Rendon 2.0 except he's a fan favorite so we support him. at this point, he should consider a change to corner outfield where he can limit the stress on his body.
  10. Angels might need one more good player to remain in this race. Astros/Rangers/BlueJays are making pushes
  11. I'd love for Perry to surprise everyone with another solid SP and push Anderson and Silseth to the bullpen, but the bullpen makes a TON of sense.
  12. Was our number 1 prospect cuz we were ranked like 30th for a farm system. Anywhere else he'd like like 20th
  13. My point is still correct. "If he's healthy, it makes our division that much more tough to win in." During the small amount he was playing the Rangers were one of the best teams. Even though they're starting to slip, they are still in first.
  14. I'll throw a curve ball into this conversation..... Everyone is at fault. Nevin has had some serious miscues with bullpen guys Some of the players (Anderson, Rengifo, Tepera, Loup) have been absolute garbage (this whole team has an IQ of 73). Minasian has been too confident in returning players (Rengifo, Suarez) Arte is still an owner.
  15. I just love how his scouting numbers show average with his speed. From what i've seen he's damn fast and Randazzo doesn't stop talking about how fast he is.
  16. Im not concerned, but i've always viewed him as a streaky hitter. Could just be one of those cold periods
  17. I understand that this is a getaway day lineup, but if I were Ohtani, I'd want my top guys playing behind me when I started.
  18. Yeah, for me it's the mental mistakes. If it wasn't for that we'd still be a first place team. The mental mistakes are definitely something that can be fixed, but this team is used to imploding to we shall see.
  19. Can't wait for him to get a few ABs then hit a homer so everyone gets wet calling him Captain Jack....
  20. Why do the Angels have some form of drama every year. We're three games into the season and Rendon and Crapino are already stirring the pot.
  21. They won't which is why Blum was in his own category of why people are easily rubbed the wrong way. I appreciate him calling it out as it is.
