  1. Angels fans have 0 reason to be upset with Ohtani. The dude simply wants to play on a winning team. Does it suck that he left? Hell yes it does. The only person to blame is the owner for not having a talented enough organization to compete and make him want to stay.
  2. So is Arte about to have a reactionary move like he did when he missed on Cole?
  3. Like he saved $700M. I just feel for Trouty. Angels have now confirmed a step back. Not sure what their plans are going forward, but it's going to be rough.
  4. I think I would have done $700M considering he has substantials defferals that "cover the majority of the salary". The team can remain competitive. WOW. Literally in shock....
  5. So then why is Morosi reporting that he is en route to Toronto again haha
  6. What a shit show this is becoming. Some dudes should lose their jobs for reporting shit like this.
  7. JP Hoornstra said he signed with Toronto. Not sure how confirmed this is?
  8. Right when i thought we were going to wake up to good news
  9. Good point. As much as I want him back with the Angels, it'll still be a small W if he ditched the Dodgers for Toronto. Would be a much easier pill to swallow.
  10. I wonder what team has the advantage the longer this drags out with Ohtani. Has he not found what he's looking for in other teams that might cause him to come back to the Angels? Is it a bidding war? If he wanted to return to Anaheim then I don't see why that hasn't happened already. Maybe he just wants Arte to dish out more cash, though that doesn't sound like him.
  11. I really think it comes down to Dodgers vs Angels. Toronto is an interesting thought, but at the end of all this, I think they come in 3rd place. Arte will just need to pay up and put a major plan in place to make this team competitive.
  12. Let's get one thing straight.... The dude wants to win. If he ends up signing a 10-12yr contract with the Angels then the chances of him having a chance to win are very high. Yes, i know Mike Trout as an example.... But at some point then Angels will be good again.
  13. I agree to both, but both of these scenarios scare me. They can't compete. Best chances to compete are to sign Ohtani, trade for a strong arm and maybe take a run at Yamamoto. It's not my money and i'm tired of losing.
  14. No idea how the hell we get one of these guys vs any other team bidding. Perry would need to be creative/aggresive. Sandoval, Detmers, Ward, Moniak, Silseth, Dana, Adell and Paris are the only names that bring "value". Question is, how far are you willing to go? Majority of those players you kind of need..... unless they do something else. Trade one of Sandoval/Detmers/Silseth for a top arm then make hard push for Yamomoto?
  15. I'd expect tomorrow to be the same as people start heading home. I know it's a long offseason, but they'd help grow the game if they can have more of an NBA/NHL free agent week.
  16. In hindsight, is Ron just confirming that the've been asked by Ohtani's camp for everyone to stay hush hush? Maybe that's all this meant.
