  1. As sad as this is, I can totally see this. Jesus I hope it's not true though.
  2. Honestly, probably. I totally agree with what you guys have said above, but what it boils down to is getting Trout in the damn playoffs at this point. To me, i'm just looking at the final outcome we all want. I'm just getting tired of waiting.
  3. Literally just make the playoffs year after year. It's not that complicated but seems like rocket surgery to him.....
  4. I thought he was talking about screwing over the organization and fan base one more time.
  5. "it’s easier to resume negotiations on a long-term deal" He's probably happy he purposely waited for Correa to finally sign so he could avoid all long-term deals for a shortstop. Legendary move.
  6. That's great. and so was the Trout contract. But still no playoffs. Arte has a top payroll but puts zero money anywhere else. Lather. Rinse. Repeat as long as he's an owner.
  7. 3rd place seems right. If someone like Rendon or Trout get injured then the Rangers can easily jump over them in the standings...
  8. I forgot to add one thing to this list which i consider to be one of my top requests.... RETIRE TIM SALMON'S NUMBER.
  9. President of baseball ops Strengthened staff for scouting strengthened staff for player development payroll flexibility to compete with any team as needed Refreshed Angels jerseys from 1976–1992 Get rid of "LA" on the name NUMEROUS WORLD SERIES TITLES
  10. He did! Adell probably did as well, but he can't be mad, he hasn't proved anything at the major league level yet. Honestly hope he gets traded at some point
  11. Anyone notice Jo Adell removed the Angels off his bio on IG? used to say "Los Angeles Angels #7" Now just says "Athlete". Maybe he found out he's starting in AAA hahahahaha
  12. Can we raise our ceiling too? Maybe a good SS? or good starter?
  13. Would you guys be willing to do Pablo Lopez for Taylor Ward?
  14. The Rays do this almost yearly. Imagine having an owner that put development at the forefront of the organization and THEN financially backed the MLB roster? The Dodgers run like that. It blows my mind that they max out payroll, trade their top prospects for guys like Turner/Scherzer and then still have a top 5 farm. It truly is incredible..... and it bugs the hell out of me.
  15. I get the injury scare with Correa, but if you get him for 10+ years then what's the scare with making the contract official? Doesn't every team factor in that each player likely will miss time due to injury? Maybe it's just to sign a contract, but if he needs season ending surgery then that's a pretty common thing (from our eyes). Players are bound to be injured at some point during a 10yr contract. Let alone slide in terms of production. That's a risk every team understands.
  16. It'd be a fair trade IF we had the extra prospect capital to do it. To me, the farm is just starting to grow. Angels need to spend the money, not sell the system.
  17. Exactly. Like what would happen? The bidders will see Arte hand out a mega contract and they run away from owning one of the top valued teams in MLB? If anything it only sweetens the deal.
  18. Angels should jump in at Correa if they have the chance. Plain and simple. Take the financial risk and get it done. This team needs a boost to be a playoff team. If they did make a run at Correa then you really have the chance to trade for another starter.
  19. I mean.... Doesn't every team run these probable outcomes to see how to improve their team? Doesn't mean they made a serious push for him. They probably did the same with every other top FA and are doing it with every crazy trade scenario.
  20. I'm a big fan of Joe Lacob. Seeing that he grew up here makes it more special, however he did acknowledge that buying in NorCal makes better sense. I hope he buys the Angels, but i'll keep my mind open for others as well. Just have a feeling that he has interest but isn't 100% sure on it. No matter what, if ANY new owner presents the funds to win, helps grow a great front office and provides the support needed to win then i'll be happy. Despite him having a crazy daughter or not.
  21. The rumors of the Angels looking to acquire shortstop help, a starting pitcher and bullpen help seem like something to be written before the offseason starts. If it's even slightly true I wonder about the "to what extent" part. Are we talking about Profar/Cueto and a cheap bullpen arm? Or Lopez/Hoerner and Chafin.....
