  1. @Jeff Fletcher Since it's rumored to be in the reviewing financial stages, is there any chance that the potential bidders and Arte have mutually agreed on the payroll for this upcoming year? Just speculating since Arte wants it done by Opening Day so it's not his thing to worry about. Plus the budget has already gone up significantly.
  2. Yeah cuz if they're in the rumored "reviewing financial stages" then the payroll is 100% on the new owner if done by Opening Day. Which explains why Arte wants it done by then. Which really makes me think that we could be sleepers in the top FA SS market. Would be the new owners first big splash.
  3. With the news that Arte wants to sell by Opening Day I wonder if the budget is being discussed with the bidders. Could be a completely new budget.
  4. Their offseason plans HAVE to be a major part of the Angels spending then. All bidders must be agreeing with what the Angels are doing i'd imagine. If they do sign a top FA SS and or Senga then that would be looked at as the new owners first big splash. Specially if Arte wants out before Opening Day.
  5. Rodgers might be much more affordable to trade for. I'm just weary of trading away the depth it looks like we finally have. Keep the depth and sign top talent. Angels would finally have a good mixture of it all if they did.
  6. Would love for Judge to sign with the Giants so Jon can finally get off his knees with Judge/Yankees
  7. So the Phillies and Padres, both teams who entered with higher payrolls than the Angels, are still trying to offer big contracts. I wonder if there is a change is philosophy with some teams not being afraid of pushing the payroll above and beyond the tax. Wonder if Angels are thinking the same.
  8. Heyman is trash. Morosi mentions the Angels and BlueJays and this cone head doesn't do it. Do any of these guys have legit sources or are they as reliable as the lion guy just naming a bunch of teams.
  9. I hope nothing more is traded or added to the outfield. With that being said, go sign Correa and Senga and then make that final piece trade at the deadline. NOT MY MONEY
  10. "But when that one splashy move has an injury in April … you better have something behind it." He's getting the depth ready for that April injury to the star SS.
  11. New poll idea: Who gets injured first... deGrom or Heaney
  12. Lion might either be incredibly lucky or actually knows a few people.
  13. If Arte and Perry lose this to Cohen and Eppler then this is peak peak Arte. Votes against Cohen to own a team then loses Senga to he and his former GM. Imagine But would be sweet if Arte won......
  14. And surprisingly, AW would likely get the Angels into the playoffs before Arte or any other GM does.
  15. I'm curious now. We're rumored to be interested in solidifying the back end of the bullpen and looking to "upgrade" at SS. And apparently still engaged with Senga. Clear sign we might be trading for a SS to save on $, but that's still a bit of money to spread around. Just hope the Angels don't whiff.
  16. Exactly. Got the Phillies to the World Series and will be good for years to come. Owner is worth slightly less than Arte and isn't in the market that the Angels are in. Arte Moreno, for years, has had ZERO excuse for not doing the same thing.
  17. I'd be happy, but then i'd want the Angels to get stronger in other area since they'd likely be trading away good pieces for those guys. Signing a top FA SS cuts into your pockets, but trading for one strengthens one area and likely weakens another. Angels aren't in position to trade away pitching depth. They've spent years trying to make it strong and they are almost there.
  18. I think we should buckle up for the Angels not to land a top FA SS. We do this every year trying to justify how the Angels will do it, but always get disappointed. Angels will get a SS, but i'd imagine it'd be someone slightly better than Rengifo/Fletcher.
  19. Phillies owner is worth slightly less than Arte and he's going over the tax.
  20. If anything Perry might want to finalize the bullpen then approach the top FA SS to show they are the last piece needed to make a run.
  21. Can't be scared to spend if you wanna compete with the big boys.... If the prices scare you then sell the team, trade Ohtani and let Trout play for someone who wants to win.
  22. I would too, but it's a rough thing to do. Having as much depth as possible in the rotation is extremely crucial. But, Sandoval's value might be peaking. Yikes.
  23. I think we're done adding pieces in the outfield, but I do wonder if Taylor Ward would be packaged for a top SS if the Angels went after Nimmo. Secondly, A Correa/Neto, Bogaerts/Neto, Swanson/Neto or Turner/Neto middle infield would be something special.
  24. Nothing is, but doesn't mean it won't happen. Either way, the new owner will be in a good position having immediately acquired two of the best players on the planet in one hell of a market. It'll be the ultimate Christmas for them.
