    To me it isn't about balking on the $700M. If Ohtani is suggesting HEAVY deferrals that lead to a $2M salary then i'd 1000000% match it if I was Arte. The dude would have sold the team by the time that payment takes effect so it wouldn't be his concern. If anything, the value of the team would be higher when trying to sell it. It's a win-win. Keep your best player for better chances to win while flipping a bigger profit when selling the team.

    I'm just still trying to figure out what "aggressive" is supposed to mean. They got the last chance to dance with Ohtani and be "aggressive" and completely balked on it.

    Chapman isn't an outfielder.... If they're eyeballing outfield bats then someone else will be used in a trade.

    To me that just sounds like sloppy seconds. Which we all know Arte LOVES. I like Bellinger, just fear the price is a bit too high for him.

    This is actually very intriguing. I do believe Clevinger can bounce back and Montas likely needed to get out of NY. To what extent? who knows. Hicks is a perfect fit for the Angels since they love high-velo guys. Adames/Turner/Garver are interesting options and provide much needed depth. Curious on how the SS/2B picture looks with Adames/Neto/Drury And of course Burnes is great and a possible extension candidate.

    I'm honestly surprised bullpen coaches are making only $90k and pitching coaches are between $150k-$350k. I always thought all coaches were above like $250k haha

    If I was Perry with $73M to spend here's what i'd do: Trade Adell + others for Bieber: +$12.2M (Est via spotrac) Sign Montgomery: $23M AAV Sign Soler: $15M AAV Sign Hicks: $8M AAV Sign Gurriel Jr.: $13.5AAV I think this might make us have possible shot at a WC spot.

    I'm all for this. Now comes the real question: Ohtani would have solidified DH and Top rotation (2025) Are the Angels better projected to trade for Bieber, sign Montgomery and Soler? Still is cheaper than just Ohtani. I think so.

    I'm just super curious to see how the Angels might possibly trade for Burnes, Glasnow or Bieber if they're possibly competing against the Dodgers, Blue Jays, Giants, Yankees and Mets.

    If it actually is true then i'd be a little more upset with him. I get leaving for wanting to win. He 100% deserves to do it, but blocking something only to leave screws an organization over.

    Genuine question - Did Ohtani actually ask not to be traded? If so.... both times?

    Again, it's a weird place if he's doing either one. Rage spending in the past hasn't helped the team at all and doing nothing won't help at all either. I know I shouldn't care about a single player, instead care for the organization, but damn I really really feel for Trout. Sure, he's getting paid, but baseball deserves to see him playing October baseball. At least Arte will announce the team is back on the market come July/August.
