Why is Bryce Harper in this All Star Game promo? I mean I understand why Ohtani isn't (he doesn't deserve it) but Harper?!

I think something these last several years has taught me is about the importance of having a lot of quality role players and depth. I've generally been more focused on the starting lineup, but yikes, paying millions of dollars each year to plug holes with bad players, trading for players on their way to the glue factory or calling up AAA/A stop gaps and hoping for the best has been what's killed this franchise. Even if none of these guys are stars its great to see guys like Fletcher, Regifo, Goodwin, Puello, and most of the bullpen fill holes that in previous years would have been absolute dumpster fires.

Little late I know series is over but I guess for next year can keep everyone from LA in check by hiring those roof top Koreans (worked in '92) ,, just place them high up somewhere & provide plenty of free cigs lol!

this was the first Dodger / Angel game I have gone to in years. I sworn them off like others here. I decided to go, with all people a Dodger fan. he picked up tickets paid through the nose and invited me to come along. It was a great crowd, nothing like the past. even when I rousted dodger fans, they would laugh right with me and give me a high five. not to long ago, that would have never happened. fights, swearing and spitting on each other was the norm.

Somewhere, Chris Knapp, Dave Lemanczyk and Steve Renko are laughing their asses off....
We have had some Dog Shit pitchers through the years even dudes who only lasted 8 starts before their arms fell off that had better ERA's than some of these guys including Skaggs. And they only gave up 2-4 Home Runs in 8 starts! Ed Halicki, Doug Rau etc. Both of those guys had ERA's around low 5's....
Ken Forsch gave up 25 home Runs in 1982 sure he pitched 228 innings but he only had a 3.87 ERA.
The problem is they are throwing too many pitches, and falling behind in the count. They are playing with breaking balls early in the count and then throwing 2 fastballs up or way out to get them to chase! Then the 6th pitch is a breaking ball out of the zone so now you have a 50/50 chance of getting strike 3 or having the ball put into play, or walking the hitter!
IT's the pitching philosophy~ We used to call it pitching scared! Or, worried about the perfect pitch!
You can even work backwards if you can throw your break stuff for a strike. They are trying to be too perfect with the first pitch breaking ball instead of a get me over or something with less spin which will end up in the strike zone instead of the dirt! SPIN RATE this is an over analyzation of a stat!
