It should be in the rules that a batter who is hit by a pitch that is in the strike zone is a strike!  Thete is no reason a batters body should be in the strike zone

That literally is already the rule. So the fact that the umpire was in the middle of punching him out makes this decision so ridiculous. The umpire very clearly didn't apply the rule correctly.

Glad it wasn't the Angels at least

We beat the fuck out of those pretentious, terrible teeth having fuckers not once, but twice.  We earned the right to fix their grammar and spelling mistakes.

And listen, I’m on vacation right now, we took an airplane here and rented an apartment for a week.  Florida is not my favorite state and I should be more worried about ending up in the hospital right now with all these kids going to a university flaunting the mask rules, but I’m not gonna worry too much.  Just going to finish my French fries and cookies, grab some sunscreen at the drug store and concentrate on the weekend. ‘Merca!

iirc, Shane Greene is the only truly solid FA reliever still out there.

Three solid seasons in the past four years

Is it that he would have made $6.25 million if 2020 was a full season, and is looking for too much guaranteed money?

    Peripherals declining?

Can’t be health concerns, as he’s been durable since moving to the pen five years ago.

32, peripherals aren't great, and velocity decline the last two years

Man I read that article just now and kept seeing him referencing how he didn't abuse his power in the workplace and how it was all during his time off and I kept thinking how he has this lawyered down pretty well.  It's funny because all the references made to his being smart and charming just tells me he knew how to work the system to his advantage.

Angels are going to have to pick between looking like douchebags and a wrongful termination lawsuit.   You'd think saving oneself (Arte), and the brand (Angels), from that sort of PR disaster would be an easy choice but here we are.

Seems like the investigation should be coming to an end soon. I think he'll be gone this week.

Some of it is, I assume, based only on the testimony of the women in question. Some of it is also from texts - which I would think is still able to be viewed. I've seen people mention dick picks, but as far as I've seen it was mainly harassment that they didn't tell him they weren't interested because they didn't want to get on Callaway's bad side. I'm not saying it isn't a fireable offense, but the Angels management may not view those offenses as serious enough to fire him for. The more serious charges I saw were allegedly thrusting his crotch in a female reporter's face and asking for nude pics, but as far as I know, the former could simply be denied. The last one would be the hardest to avoid firing him for. But if they're committed to keeping him, which at this point I'm starting to suspect, then they may either try to find some way to excuse or deny it, or just wait a bit longer and say they investigated and decided it wasn't enough to fire him over. Maybe he issues a canned apology and promises to educate himself or take a class on how to relate to women appropriately in the workplace.

I don't believe that's what they should do, but the longer this goes on the more I believe it is the likely result. There's zero reason an investigation should take this long.

Yes there are clearly allegations worthy of investigation.

I'm not sure what his employment contract looks like, so the procedures involved may take extra time. Since he hasn't publicly admitted anything like the others I mentioned, that may be the case. If the Angels were to fire him without following the procedures, he would be owed his salary. So perhaps the Angels are fully investigating per their contracts in order to not have to pay him?

Or at least that's one reason
