This comment hits home personally.  There has been a screw in the tire of my wife’s car for a couple weeks and I haven’t bothered with it yet because we haven’t needed that car for the last couple of weeks.
But I am going to need her car to be ready to go next week.
So I am going to take it in Friday or Saturday.
The point is obvious but I will also say it.  The progress and timeline (and strategy) of many projects is driven by a deadline, not the starting line.
It is really a bit silly to be fixated on this situation in the context of the amount of time from the lockout to the next publicized date of talks.
The parties involved have a much better understanding of managing the timeline and deadline than fans.

I just know it was 1977.  We had just moved to CA (Yorba Linda) from South Carolina and I was 9.
We went to a couple games that year and then I was hooked and begged my parents to go everyday in 1978.
We moved to Encinitas in 1979 but my Mom would drive us the 64 miles each way to the Big A at least 20 times a year.

I am genuinely interested in being civil Strad.  How can you call them unreasonable when the most seasoned, effective negotiators on the planet would predictably use delays to make progress?
Isnt it more likely you are simply frustrated as a fan not actually seeing progress?
So why not just be honest and say you are annoyed and frustrated rather than make a baseless accusation about the people involved when what they are doing is easily defendable (and predictable) as a negotiating strategy?

My first game was in 1962, it was a field trip with my cub scout group. The Dodgers were playing the Cardinals, on the mound was Bob Gibson vs Sandy Koufax. The Dodgers won on a HR from Tommy Davis with 1 out in the bottom of the ninth, off of  Gibson. Koufax went 9 innings and I saw Stan Musial get a couple of hits, so even though the Dodgers won it was a pretty great game. I saw my first Angel game a couple of weeks later at Dodger Stadium and I was hooked, and I do know I'm old as fuck.

It is pretty silly to say the people negotiating are not reasonable people.  That’s just your displeasure with the fact that it is not yet resolved.

We are never going to hear about an Adell trade that people will be happy with.  Either the pitcher “isn’t good enough” or he is good enough but still gets rejected because “not enough years of control.”

Everyone should be really upset with Sacramento over everything.
I am surprised they are not requiring the plans for a new ballpark to include a quick cultural appropriations sensitivity training before you order a burrito or slice of pizza and a designated needle exchange area.

I have no idea what your landlord has experienced but it is very possible that Covid did cause your rent to go up.
If the landlord has multiple properties and has tenants refusing to pay (very common now because it is almost impossible to evict non-payers during Covid regardless of their actual ability to pay) . . .

Then the landlord has to get as much rent as possible from paying renters to cover their expenses and minimize their losses.
So blame the freeloaders and the government for protecting them.  You just got stuck with the bill.
